Sometimes the disk drive on Xbox's can be damaged. I know someone who has this same problem where their disk drive does not read their games...a repair may be necessary in order to solve your console's problem...

I bought the Borderlands Game of the Year Edition for both 360 and XBox One and my One will not recognize the game anywhere. It is like the disk is not even there.

My console is up to date and has plenty of memory. This is the first backward compatible game that I have bought, but it says on the disk that it is an Xbox One game.

Any thoughts?

Does the game download at all? If it does, it should reading the disk. If you have both versions, try the other version and see if there is a disk issue. Another solution is, if it is downloaded, delete it and start fresh. Please let me know if that
doesn’t work. There are a few other things you can try.

also i can put the disk drive back in... nothing is broken just doesnt read disks

if your disk is scratched or broken you have to buy a new disk if it does not work propperly you may still be able to buy the map pack and play it if not and you have bought a new disk it will still be there because it is saved on your harddrive
