I bought one edition of Minecraft and I can access none of the editions now...

I will try to give as much detail as I can because I am really lost as well.

A few years prior the pandemic I bought Minecraft Bedrock Edition on Xbox One. This console is shared among my sister, my stepfather and I, and he used to have the Game Pass but a some time after my purchase he stopped having it, though I am not really sure if he has it now or not and I don't know if this info is needed. The purchase might be in his account name however I am not sure of it and I don't know how to check it. I rarely had trouble playing with my account that game as well. Some time passed and I saw this combo-like information both on Minecraft, on Microsoft, and online that if you bought one edition you would get the other as well, and that people that had one now would have the other too, so now having a computer I wanted to download Minecraft Java Edition to play. Problem was that the first few times I tried to find it, download it and etc I barely never managed to find it, the only option showing being to buy it, like, again? Today was a little different and after trying to do it again to download at least the Bedrock Edition that I bought and was sure I had it I ended up installing the Minecraft Launcher. I thought the problem was solved, but then I noticed that starting it I could only try Java's demo and Bedrock's trial, even though I should have Bedrock completely and I think the Java too due to the combo.

Not only am I very lost but also I don't know if I am doing something wrong, if the Xbox/Microsoft/Mojang/someone app is not working correctly, if the GamePass going and comming caused a problem, if the purchase being made by other account complicates stuff, etc... I had no clue of what even to research to find solutions, people with similar problems, and overall any progress and that is why I am sending this question here, probably very out of place.

From as far as I know I paid for it so I should have it, or at least have only the Bedrock Edition, but I can't access both on my computer even though I accessed my account and all correctly in the app and downloaded the launcher. Knowing my account I think you guys will probably find what are the other two accounts in the same Xbox, the GamePass situation, the account that paid for it, the payment, the purchase being too old, and etc, and this might be enough to help me solve the problem. If you can't access all this and I am overestimating something I can easily offer as much info as needed about as much as possible in order to solve it in the best and easiest way possible for both ends.

Again, I am very lost, so if I am using totally the wrong place to ask this I am sorry and I will try the correct alternatives of contact you show me. I am not even sure if I should be sending this to Mojang, Microsoft, Xbox, or who else, so I will also better direct myself once and if it is presented to me the correct means of contact.

I also can offer better ways to reach me, such as e-mail or other, if it is not accessible even for administrators/operators/helpers/bestpeopleever/staff/somethingelse and also required to better fix the problem.

Thank you all so much for reading all this mess, and special thanks for those that might eventually appear to help me. Sorry again if I am totally in the wrong place, not being able to fix something simple, or anything bad that I am bringing accidentally. I just don't know what else to do to get this sorted...

Thank you so much for the detailed information and you don't have to apologize at all. Let me help you, with Mojang's promotion, you'll get Minecraft Java Edition if you have the Minecraft Bedrock Edition for PC, this is different from the license on Minecraft Bedrock Edition that is on the Xbox console.

Overall, if you purchased Minecraft (Minecraft Bedrock Edition on Xbox), this does not mean that you will get the bedrock edition on PC as well, because they sure are both Bedrock Edition but the licenses on both platforms are different.

I bought the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by mistake, but the one I wanted was the java edition.

I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?

How long ago did you purchase the game? Are you able to see it listed in your purchase history on account.microsoft.com? Have you tried deleting the game from your console and then re-downloading it?

So I checked my purchase history, and no, Minecraft is not there. Here's the thing. I have Minecraft: Xbox One Edition still, but not Minecraft. (Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is an old legacy console edition of Minecraft, just like the Playstation 4 Edition
and Xbox 360 Edition. Then Mojang put Minecraft on the Xbox One into Bedrock Edition, and EVERYONE who had the Xbox One Edition of Minecraft, got the new, simply named Minecraft for free.

I don't know if Minecraft: Xbox One Edition was a Xbox Game Pass Game, but I bought that digitally.

So I uninstalled Minecraft just now and now it isn't in my ready to install, and it is saying I NEVER BOUGHT IT and I don't even OWN it. It used to say you own this game, but since I uninstalled Minecraft, it doesn't even say that anymore.

Now I don't even have it at ALL.

Edit: I bought the Xbox One Edition of Minecraft probably at least 3 years ago. Then they came out with Minecraft on the Xbox on Bedrock Edition, and everyone who OWNED it beforehand, got the new and improved version for free since they had already bought
the old version. I don't even think they update the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition anymore.

So basically my money was stolen, and now I have to pay more if I want Minecraft back.

(sorry if i sound angry, i just really love Minecraft, and my friends and i get on this EPIC world almost every day together and have fun. Now i can't do that anymore...)

Edit 2: It works now! Try restarting your xbox and see for yourself.

You can only transfer your world from Minecraft 360 Edition to Minecraft One Edition to (new) Minecraft.

Which Minecraft version do you use? For example, Minecraft 360 Edition in (new) Minecraft is not possible.

Minecraft 360 Edition and Minecraft One Edition are out of support and now the Legacy Editions. New Minecraft is the Bedrock Edition

The Minecraft Xbox One Edition only works on the Xbox One Edition.

You might want to upgrade to the Minecraft (without Xbox One Edition in the name) on your Xbox. If you bought Minecraft Xbox One Edition digitally, you can upgrade to "Minecraft" for free.

Then you can import your world from the Xbox One Edition to "Minecraft" for Xbox One.

However, the Support page for Windows 10 Minecraft states: "The Windows 10 Edition does not currently support the transferring of worlds from other devices."

So you can't transfer your world between devices.

You might have to move your World to a paid online Realm server to access it. Or you might have to run your Xbox One Minecraft in Multiplayer, and connect to the running world on your Xbox One with your Windows 10 version.

But you can't have your World separately transferred from Xbox to other devices.

As I said, you can try hosting your world on a Realm server (which you need to pay for), and can then access it with Windows 10, Xbox One, Android, iOS and Nintendo Switch.

But not JAVA.
