Discus and support I bought Minecraft java edition but it says that didn't buy it in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I recently bought Minecraft java edition but when I opened the launcher it says I can only play the demo.     I recently bought Minecraft java edition but when I opened the launcher it says I can only play the demo. I've tried everything but it just won't let me play. Do i have to buy it again?

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    I would like to clarify, did you purchase it on Microsoft Store or via Minecraft.net?

    If through the Microsoft store, it's the bundle which is Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC. We need to validate the license for the game by signing in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders, check if you can see the game order from there stated as "completed"?

    I bought the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by mistake, but the one I wanted was the java edition.

    I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

    If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?

    You only bought Minecraft for Windows and the launcher, there's nothing there saying you bought Java Edition. Hope that helps!
