Error: must have Xbox 360 hard drive to play Destiny

Hello! So I just bought Destiny for Xbox 360 today, and I'm having an issue with getting it started up. Before now I've been using an external hard drive for my Xbox's memory for saving games etc. It has well above the required 20 GB that Destiny needs
to play, but an error keeps popping up whenever I try to go into the game saying "You need an Xbox 360 Hard drive to play Destiny". Do I really have to buy a new hard drive for like $100 to play this game? Will my external hard drive just not work? Please
help!

I just downloaded Destiny but every time I try to launch it an error message comes up saying I need an xbox 360 hard drive, but isn't the hard drive that came with it a xbox 360 hard drive and it has more than enough storage left for it. Can anyone help?

Which console are you on and what size is the hard drive? There have been quite a few updates to the game since it's release. Perhaps you don't have enough space?

I got Destiny for Xbox 360 and when I try to play, it says I need an Xbox 360 Hard drive. But I have a KAT32 hard drive plugged in. Any ideas??

I bought a 250 gb hard drive slim seperatly it says you need a hard drive but it still doesn't work

i bought the game for like 60$ and when i play it it says it needs an xbox 360 hard drive i do not want to pay no 125 dollors for a 125 gb thing that god knows if i am ever going to use so much on it on and now i am *** for not being able to play destiny....

It works for all the other games that I own, but they are all on disks Destiny is the first game I have downloaded could that be involved somehow and I have tried pulling it out and reseating it and even deleted destiny and redownloaded it but it still
comes up with the message saying I need an Xbox 360 hard drive, is there anything else I should try before buying a new hard drive?
