I bought a used xbox one, it's been 4 hours and still uploading 1 game! is this normal?

I bought it on craigslist, and can't tell if it's working right. Or if it's on our end, such as my internet is slow or something! Someone Please Help Me!!!!! Four+ hours seems like something is wrong, doesn't it?

Fallout 4 season pass failed

I got a brand new xbox one and 6 games and the only game worth playing is fallout 4 and the season pass is saying it's already been used but it's brand new bought out of game it is really frustrating and I was looking forward to playing fallout 3 first but
because of this I cant

 

Using an External Hard Drive... Ridiculously Slow!?

Hey there guys.

Yesterday I bought a Seagate, 2TB Hard Drive. It's USB 3.0.

It's working on the Xbox One - but it's taking literally HOURS to install games? And normally when you power down the Xbox, it still installs the games? This doesn't work on an external hard drive, I'm guessing?

I'm currently installing Diablo III, and it's only on 50% and it has been installing for like 5 hours... (maybe a slight exaggeration, but at least 4 hours).

My question(s) is / are;

Do you use an External Hard Drive?

How fast do your games install on your External Hard Drive?

Do you have any tips on how to speed it up? (I've already done a hard reset on the Xbox One - it's made no difference!)

The Hard Drive cost me £65 and it requires a power source to work. I'm not sure if Tesco will accept a return as it's been opened / used. Any advice?

Do you mean you are installing a game, and it's taking around 4 hours?

Firstly, which game are you trying to install? Also, are you installing the game with a disc, or are you downloading it directly?

In general, games for the Xbox One are like 25GB+ on average (more or less, but really depends on the game). Slow internet connections can take a while to fully download and install, and disc-based installations will also need lengthly downloads for game
patches. I believe for most games, even when only partially installed/downloaded, the game may show as "Ready to Start". You'll get a notification when that happens.

 

Installing game depends mainly on the game size and your Internet connection. Even if the game you have is a physical disc copy, the installation speed will still depend on your Internet because all games nowadays come with massive day one patches, and also
normal patches that come later down the road.

 

If you are installing from a disc then try installing it while offline.That should speed up the process.

You can download any patches when you connect to live again.

If it is a digital game then as the others have said,it depends on the size of the game & your broadband speed.

4+ hours does seem long to me but I have fast fibre optic broadband so it can be different for other people.
