Xbox live gold isn't working

My nan bought me an Xbox live gold account for a year and my Xbox keeps saying that it isn't valid and i don't understand this is the first time I've tried to use it i have turned my Xbox on and off but it's still not working so what should i do?

 

Very annoying GTA5 On Demand Issue

Yes. It is on 2 consoles. The original console I purchased it on has no issues at all. It's my second console that I run into this error. I'm always using this profile () to play and I bought it on this profile. So I'm not sure what the issue is. I've
cleared my cache out and it'll still happen. I'm thinking it's something to do with the fact that it's a 2 disc game on Xbox 360.

 

Try performing a hard reset on the console EXACTLY this. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console. Once it is back up and operational test the results.

If that doesn't work try uninstalling/reinstalling the game.

I just tried, it froze 10 minutes after i started to play... the clear console cache doesn't work for me... i just don't know what to do... refund the game? I can't because I bought the game on xbox store... help meeeee

Have you tried clearing the Persistant storage and reseting your MAC Address? If not follow the steps below:

Settings>Disc & Blu Ray>Persistant Storage>Clear Persistant Storage.

Then:

Settings > Network > Advance Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear > Restart.

Follow this up with a Power cycle of the console as detailed by Genesis1953.
