I bought a game for PC as my Xbox couldn't buy it, when I meant to buy it for my xbox.

I bought a game on my computer, intending on buying the xbox version, as my xbox would not allow me buy it directly from there. The game is Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary. The xbox was sending me to the web page (on the built in browser) and then telling
me that I had to buy it from the xbox, as it couldn't buy it from the browser. The reason I got sent to the browser is the game was released for Xbox 360, so it was telling me to see the prices and then it took me to the web browser. I then went onto my computer
intending to buy the xbox version from there and just tell my xbox to download it as I was buying it from that store, only to find that instead, I had actually bought the PC version. Am I able to exchange it and pay the difference, or do I have to somehow
get a refund, and then work out a way to buy the xbox version and if so, how?

I have an Xbox One S.

I had a similar issue. Plz. contact Xbox support and explain the issue and they will be able to assist on the same.

To re-evaluate what I meant is, I bought the destiny game title (when it first released). Bought the DLC on the Xbox console without issues.

But now cannot buy the standalone dlc for RoI and have to buy the collection on the store for $60. No thanks.
