I bought a game but it gives me option to buy to own?

I already bought it so why does it give me the option to buy again? It also isn't letting me access it on different consoles.

Hello Squid13, system allow you to make another purchase, the same message appears after you redeem a live gold game, may seem strange but so far is how Microsoft informs in the store.

As you can see yourself you already own the game, click the button that is written "Launch Game" and start the game normally.

To access the game on another console the account that owns this game must be as the main one in the console.

Thank you for the response.

The OS is 10.0.22621.4074. Its a Xbox One model. I have received the refund and bought FEAR 3 again. It is installing as we speak however there is something odd I never seen it. It again gives me the option to buy FEAR 3. It gives two options:

Installing view in Queue this is for my copy and Buy option as to buy it again even when its bought by me, which is strange. Other games do not show this when I bought them.

I will see if it will work now. As for Ebay I rather keep my games as a download option as it saves space for me. If it will now work this time I will refund it and leave it be as it seems this could be a system error with the game itself of the marketplace for this game.

I will keep you posted.

Update: The game was installed the second time. It even did not give me the window that it finished installing, when it finished as it does with all the games when I bought it from the online store and again the same error appeared - Do you own this game or app?.

So the game is not working when you buy it from the store for me. I will again refund it as its unplayable.

If this will get resolved please let me know so I can buy the game and finally play it. Thank you.

I do what I do with every game I own digitally. I go to games tab on my Xbox' dashboard, go to search, search for whatever game I need to download (that I bought), select it, and it always gives me a download option. except this time. it says buy instead
of download.

Thanks for prompt reply. Unfortunately, this didnt solve my issue. The link gives the same options as on my XBox console. It gives me the option to install the game or buy to own for 39.99.
