I believe my Xbox One Controller is interfering with my WiFi.

I just bough an Xbox One and when I tried using it, I could not connect to my WiFi. I figured out that anytime I turned my Xbox on, my Network crashed and my router restarted. At first I though this had to do with what ports I had open, etc. Though I decided
to run a few tests;

1. I wanted to see if the wattage of the Xbox was knocking out my router, so I simply plugged my Xbox into another room. Everything seemed fine, however when I went out to check the network(with controller in hand) my Network crashed again.

2. I didn't think the controller was the issue at the time so then I dealt with Port Forwarding. I forwarded the recommended ports, etc. and still it was happening.

3. Finally, I decided to turn on my Xbox without the controller. Before, my network would crash somewhere between 1-10 minutes from turning on my Xbox, however it has currently been running for 30 minutes with no problem to my network. I just plugged in
my controller, and immediately my WiFi went out.

I do not know of a good solution to this problem yet, and was hoping someone else may have experienced the same thing and can help me with the situation. Thank you.

Wireless controller WiFi interferance

When I play with a wireless controller sometimes my controller will randomly disconnect from my console and when this happens my console disconnects from xbox live. Its as if an update has caused this as it only started happening around two months ago. Does
anyone have any idea why my wireless controller could be interfering with my xboxs wifi? This is really starting to annoy just for how stupid this problem is.

 

Controller disconnect while wired!

I hook up my controller to the Xbox one x via the usb cable once in a while. I noticed, at times, I would hear a “buzz” in the speakers and the controller would disconnect from the Xbox.

This is my conclusion- every time this happens, my dog has been close to the cable a second or two before the event. He has a CHIP which I believe is interfering with the single through the cable.

 

What brand of router do you have? It's not Dlink by chance is it? Also for purposes of fact. When the controller is plugged in it operates in wired mode no wireless mode.

 

No, it's a Ubee, and that will do it because I plugged in the Xbox to the modem and was able to get online. I don't lose internet, just WiFi.

 

I did a quick google on your router, the google consensus is that they are not very good, and crash a fair bit and drop packets. I'd replace it with something else. A decent router is pretty cheap these days. Asus makes a decent one, Netgear and TP-Link
are a good budget router that is also pretty high quality for being budget priced. I am running on a TP-Link Archer C7 for my home network and haven't had issues yet. It has lots of ram so it can take a heavy load and its ACN compliant.

 

Probably will try something else. The controller is definitely what is doing it because if I turn the Xbox on but keep the controller off, the WiFi stays on.
