I am wanting to change my Gamertag from 'SegmaHD' to 'Segma' however there is a problem.

Hi there, I am wanting to change my Gamertag from '' to 'Segma' however someone has already claimed the name, the account is inactive and was purely created to claim the name. I own 'Segma' as a Business and as a brand and I would appreciate it if
anyone can assist me on helping me change my Gamertag to 'Segma' - This is a common issue, I believe Xbox delete inactive accounts every few months, this account was purely created to claim the name 'Segma' so I cannot change to it. Please help.

Wanting to change my gamertag however the one that is taken hasn't been used in 5 years. Wanting to know if there is a Microsoft Support Specialist that could somehow let me change it to that gamertag? Thanks!

Unfortunately no, there is no way to delete a gamertag. You can however pay to change your gamertag or simply create a new account and disassociate yourself from the current one. To change your gamertag, follow the steps in

THIS guide.

If you instead choose to create a new account, be sure to remove any personal information from the account that you are wanting to leave behind, such as payment details.

If the system shows it's taken, then there's nothing else that can be done unless the original owner changes it to something else or it does get freed up some other time. There's no way to have it freed up any other time. The tag system is also in use on
other Microsoft services, so even if it is not in use on the Xbox, it could be in use somewhere else.

Hello there, I was on Xbox before but now I am on PC.

Your first gamertag change is free however, if you do want to change your gamertag after that you will need to pay for it.

The Xbox Gamertag FAQ from Microsoft support's page states:
"Q: I have more than 12 characters in my gamertag! Do I need to change it?
"A: Nope. If you like your gamertag the way it is, you keep it."

Well, I like my gamertag the way my classic gamertag is. Why am I forced to change it for the modern gamertag?

I dont want to clone or duplicate a gamertag from one account to another. I want to clone or duplicate the name that already exists in my classic gamertag to my modern gamertag.

There HAS to exist an employee at Microsoft that is able to manage account details from the backend. How do I get in contact with them to resolve this issue?

No, you it all wrong. I want to change the gamertag. From SweetJTBR to Julius DIWJ. However, the second gamertag is in use. If I delete the second account, can I rename this one to Julius DIWJ?
