I am unable to redeem my Fallout 3 code on my xbox one

I purchased Fallout 4 that came with a Fallout 3 backwards compatible code from a retailer. After going to xbox.com/redeemcode I was unable to redeem my code getting the following error :

Xbos-0x80150017 d0185158-f9c4-479f-97df-776921e8c2d7

2015/11/26 - 17:14:30 UTC

I then spoke to a Microsoft support agent online who replaced my code but I got a new error :

Xbos-0x80150017 c8996d66-fe45-4cb4-b1f3-746fee994e9a

I have tried to change my region from South Africa to United Kingdom but this does not help. I have tried to redeem the code from an Apple Macbook and a Windows 10 laptop neither work. What can I do to resolve this problem?

Free Fallout 3 code with digital purchase of Fallout 4

As stated above I sadly forgot to redeem my copy of Fallout 3 after I received my code and eventually remembered that I had it, it was sadly too late for me to redeem it and thus I thought I had lost it until I found info on the Xbox one sub-Reddit that
brought some hope that I could possibly reacquire my code for the copy of Fallout 3 either way if I'm unable to reacquire my code for the game I understand, but if at all possible to get it I'd very much appreciate it.

 

Fallout 3 code included with fallout 4 (physical copy)

I was trying to redeem the code for fallout 3 which was included with my fallout 4 on both my xbox one and xbox.com however it came up with an error and could not redeem.

It sounds like your issue might be tied to the region of your account. Cross-region accounts aren't supported and cause issues such as the one you're experiencing. depending on the region you purchased Fallout 3, the code provided would need to be redeemed
on an account of the same region that you are physically located in. I recommend reaching back out to phone support in regards to your account region, they'll be able to best help out.

 

Thank you. I had to change my region back to the region I live in ( unsure why it would have changed ) and the code then worked. Thanks.
