    I am unable to play digital games anymore on my Xbox Series X


    For a little over a week I have been having frequent issues getting my Xbox to let me play any of my games. The issue started after I preordered and installed the deluxe edition of Hogwarts Legacy and saw an error that said "Check your network" every time that I tried to run the game. My network was working perfectly fine though at the time and every other game on my Xbox worked without a problem. The next day the problem had resolved itself and I was able to play a few hours after work, but later that night I started getting an error that said "The person who bought this needs to sign in" every time that I tried to play Hogwarts Legacy or any of the other games owned by my account (I was logged into the account that bought those games). Even free games like Halo Infinite or Fall Guys would give me the same error.

    After trying everything else that I could think of (I spent 8+ hours by this time trying to find a solution) I did the factory reset that let me keep my games and after I did that every single game that I tried to play started telling me "Check your network" even though everything else network related was working fine on my Xbox (testing my network or multiplayer connection resulted in "It's all good", everything looked good in the network speed and statistics test, I could see friends online and join a party with them, I could access the store and buy games, I could install games, and my NAT Type was always either open or moderate. I reset my modem/router many times, tested it with both wired and wireless connections, and I tried 2 separate mobile hotspots all with the exact same issue. I was thinking that the problem might be my Xbox Series X itself, but I remembered that I still had my old Xbox One and decided to give that a try. After plugging it in, updating the Xbox, and updating some games I saw that I was getting the exact same "Check your network" error that I was getting on my Xbox Series X with every game that I tried to play except for Red Dead Redemption 2 (I found the disc in my Xbox One and didn't realize that I still had it).

    Eventually I gave up for a few days and when I tried to play my Xbox again yesterday it was working fine again and all of my games ran without any issues. I was finally able to play a bit of Hogwarts Legacy yesterday, but unfortunately last night the problems randomly started occurring again although it's slightly different this time. Now when I try to run Hogwarts Legacy I see the error "The person who bought this needs to sign in", when I try to run Red Dead Redemption 2 (the only physical game that I have) with the disc it works fine, and when I try to run any other game on my Xbox I see the "Check your network" error or "Something happened" every single time. The only other notable difference now is that I see "Check your network" now when I try to open the store too. It's extremely frustrating that I spent $80 preordering a game that I've barely been able to play (I've spent at least four times longer troubleshooting these issues than playing the game), and now the console that I spent over $500 is essentially nothing more than a big paperweight 90% of the time. It also seems like every time that it starts working just happens to be when I only have a little bit of free time, but when I have time off and would actually like to relax and spend a night enjoying my new game I'm instead stuck spending hours stressing out while trying to fix this problem.

    Here's are (some) of the things that I've tried off the top of my head:

    Restarting my Xbox

    Hard resetting my Xbox

    Restarting my modem and router

    Connecting to my router with both a wired and wireless connection

    Connecting directly to the modem with an ethernet cable

    Connecting to multiple different mobile hotspots (from different network providers)

    Trying different DNS settings and clearing my MAC address

    Uninstalling and reinstalling some of the games (also moving them between the internal and external drives)

    Setting my Xbox as my home Xbox

    Signing out of my account and back in

    Removing my account from my Xbox and adding it again

    Factory resetting the Xbox while keeping games and apps

    Fully factory resetting the Xbox

    Performing an offline system update

    Creating another Xbox account with Hong Kong set as the region (I thought this might help because I live in China now)

    I don't think the problem can be my Xbox (unless the exact same problem spontaneously occurred on my old Xbox too since I last used it) and I don't think it's my network connection either because the same problem happened with the mobile hotspots, so at this point the only other explanation that I can think of is that the problem is somehow related to me living in China. I've been living here for over a year though (also for a few years before COVID) and have never experienced any issues until now. It's very weird that it'll start working perfectly fine again for a day or at least a few hours, but then everything just stops working again for a day or longer. I really hope that there is a permanent solution for this problem and it isn't something that I will have to continue dealing with for the foreseeable future.

    Why cant i pre load my diablo 4 ultimate edition?

    I have an Xbox Series X and an Xbox One S. I have restarted both consoles multiple times. I cannot even download the game on my One S. On the Series X, I was able to download "something" by clicking on the tile in my games inventory, but the result is only 74GB instead of the 96GB shown in the MS store.

    How do I get help with this? I am unable to play the game on the Series X (I get an error that I am too early, even though I purchased the Ultimate Edition), and I am unable to download anything on the Xbox One S.

    Can anyone help?

    If I buy a digital hogwarts Legacy code fro Xbox Series X will it work if I put it in on Xbox one?

    I am thinking of buying hogwarts legacy as a digital game but it is sold out for Xbox one so should I buy the Series X game and put the code in the Xbox one Store?
    No. The series X/S version of the game will only work on the Series X or S.

    The only way that would work is if it's a code for the digital deluxe version of the game (which comes with both the series x/s and xbox one versions of the game)

    I am also having this exact same issue. I am unable to even play the game on my Xbox series x as the cloud data will not synced properly. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the game with still no solution. I beat this game a while back but would love to continue playing from where I left off. Several hours have been invested and now I am unable to play it unless I start completely over. I hope there is a resolution to this.
