I am unable to launch Call of Duty Black Ops 4 since the latest update

Hello, as the title suggests I am unable to launch this game after the latest update a few days ago. It gets as far as the Treyarch logo and sometimes will display the spinning badge at the bottom right, but it will suddenly lock up and the sound glitches
and kick me to the dashboard. I have tried resetting my Xbox, uninstalling and reinstalling, tried launching without signing in, unconnected from internet, even moving it to a different hard drive and it still didn't work until I launched it without updating.
It plays other games fine as well. I have another original Xbox One and I signed into my account and it launches fine on that one.

Anyone else have this issue? I'm having a hard time finding anyone else posting about this so I'm wondering if it's just my Xbox somehow busted.

Would appreciate some help if there's even a fix for this strange problem. Thanks.

Thanks for updating us with your replies. I see that you've already tried a factory reset and uninstalling/reinstalling Black Ops 4; however, did you uninstall it, factory reset (keeping game & apps), download a small demo game, then attempt to reinstall
it?

It is possible that there is likely a potentially corrupting file on the system's OS that is preventing the game from launching as it should, which a soft factory reset can help eliminate, but the demo game would act as a "patch" for that area (overwriting
it) that may be having an issue. Once the demo game is downloaded, then you would download/install BO4 and may delete the demo.

I would also recommend trying some of the troubleshooting solutions that are available in our

Xbox One Game Freeze Solution if you haven't already done so to see if this would help out.

Give the solutions a try and please let us know the results.

Try clearing the cache, or like Ballistic Chick said, uninstall it and reinstall it.

I’m sorry to hear about this. Does toy Xbox have trouble launching any other games? If the problem isn’t with the disk or the storage file, I would think the Xbox might have a problem. Have you dropped it, or done anything that could’ve damaged it in any
way?

It plays all other games just fine. I haven't damaged it in any way....however dealing with this problem for the past few days made me briefly think of throwing it into traffic 😅

Thanks for the reply. In regard to a demo game, it can be any demo of a game and doesn't specifically need to be BO4. Sorry if that was unclear.

Regarding your system's update status, if your console is enrolled to receive any preview updates (as the system version you listed suggests), then there may be a conflict somewhere and you should

report that via the Xbox Insider's Hub app or on the
Xbox Insider subreddit page to see what they recommend. When it comes to the preview builds, traditional troubleshooting doesn't work as intended, so reaching out to them on the subreddit is the way to go.
