    I have been trying to connect a seperate account to be able to play realms through xbox and the same problem keeps popping up. One thing I think is causing it is that I have to log in to an account that has the game in order to use it with the other account. The account has all necessary privacy settings turned on just like the ones in the other account. I already tried making a Microsoft family, resetting the privacy settings and inputting them back. A note to keep is that when playing other games that require multiplayer work perfectly fine and are in no need to change any settings. Another note to keep is that the account that has minecraft does not have xbox live whereas the account I want to use does. The error message says " You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your microsoft account is set up. please ensure your online safety setting allow multiplayer and clubs and you have an active xbox live gold subscription. See instructions for changing these seeting at aka.ms/MCMultiplayerHelp. (Which I already tried).

    Seems like you have performed all the necessary steps and to ensure that we're on the right track, can you please follow the steps below using the account that you're trying to use in playing the game and let me know when will your Xbox Live Gold expires? Because if your settings are set up correctly, the last thing that we need to check is the subscription.

    Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Account > Subscriptions.

    Are you on an Xbox console? If yes, do you have an active Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate? It is required to play an online multiplayer game such as Minecraft.

    To check, follow the steps below:

    "Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Account > Subscriptions."

    I occasionally have problems accessing the privacy settings and I believe it prompts me to connect to live despite the fact that I am connected. I think it may be a problem with the XB One cloud system. Odd that yours affects the whole of settings though
    and mine just the privacy setting.
