    I am unable to add any sort of card based payment method to my Microsoft/Xbox account


    Hello,

    I am from India, and for the past 1 month I have been trying to purchase 1 month Xbox Game Pass using both Windows Store and the Xbox site. I have tried to add three different cards via the payment method option, all debit, connected to State Bank of India.
    None of them is getting accepted. The confusing part is, i am not getting any message confirming that my card is invalid or not supported by Microsoft. I keep getting this error "The information you added doesn't match to the cardholder". I just cannot add
    any payment method whatsoever. I am definitely not making any mistake. I cannot make a mistake in my entry in all of the 50 odd times I have tried adding the three debit cards. If my card isn't supported, then there should be a message confirming me that.
    Why would my info be wrong every time?

    Does anyone else from India face this issue? If so can anyone help me out?

    I do not understand whats the fuss here. I have the money, I am willing to pay, just let me pay, goddammit!

    Hey there Chirayata!

    Actually, you don't need to have it under your name, but you would have to make sure that the billing information relating to the card does match the info of whatever financial institution runs the card.

    Customer support would generally be able to pinpoint what's exactly going on with the card if everything is good with your bank or credit card company though.

    The cards have to be in your name and match the profile info. Are you using someone else's card that's in your family ?
    I am using a friend's card. Do i strictly have to use a card thats on my name?

    This is a question for Xbox support, not us on the forums. There may be a problem with the region set to your account or there's a glitch with the type of card you're using.
