I am thinking that Xbox should add a mic and audio setting click for details

while the headset is plugged press the Xbox button, slide across to the settings gear, click audio, there should be an option for audio and inside audio click headset mic and set it to on.

This should be the reason, if not let me know and ill try to work something else out.

You should be able to go into Audio Settings on your Windows 10 PC and under the Recordings tab, right click on your mic and click properties, and then adjust the levels there. Should have settings and levels for the mic.

As far as it goes for auto-pick up, I don't think those settings are available. You'd have to use third-party software, if provided with the headset maker, but in the Xbox App or Windows itself do not have that option, as far as I'm aware.

1] Set things back to the default

Press the mute mic button on the controller’s adapter, by this time you should see a glowing light that is colored orange. If this doesn’t show up, simply remove the mic and USB cable, the audio adapter,
and finally the battery from the controller.

Wait for a while, then reattach the battery, then do the same with the USB cable. After that, connect the audio adapter, then the mic cable directly to the adapter and the headset. The next step, then,
is to press the mute mic button and look out for the orange light.

Doing this should return everything to its default settings.

• Turn the master loudness to the max: Start one of your favorite video games and make sure the sound is active. On the headset, press and hold the Game Audio button until it beeps twice, then turn the volume up to the max or at a level you’re most comfortable

• Full broadcast your mic: First up, you must turn down your mic audio by 16 clicks at least, then turn up the volume on the adapter by 16 clicks.
• Alter the chat conversation volume: The next step, then, is to press the Mic Audio on the headset button, and right away things should be good to go.

So I recently had this issue as well.

here are the symptoms of the problems.

1. Cant hear anyone in a party chat

2. no one can hear you in a party chat

here are the solutions

1. If no one can hear you and you are not getting an error code on the xbox app. it means your audio is being routed to a different audio device, this usually happens after a driver update or a system change. hit the start button type " manage audio" and
hit enter. select the audio device under playback you are using and right click it and select "Set as Default Device", and right click again and select " set as default communication device" hit ok and restart the xbox app and try to join the party again.
you should hear people fine.

2. if no one can hear you but you can hear everyone fine. this means something is either using your mic or your xbox controller has a mic input. if you are using your xbox controller mic input. go to "manage sound" and go to the recording tab, select the
xbox controller and right click it and select it as the default communication device. restart the xbox app and people should hear you. if you are not using the xbox mic input as a mic select the appropriate mic device and make sure its the default communication
device.

With all of this set you should be able to hear and talk back on the xbox app with no issues. Hope it helps.

If you have a wireless mic, try to unplug it, then plug it back in. If that doesn't work, go to the party settings, and there should be audio settings. You might have to change some settings for your audio, or restart the Xbox.
