    It seems like you got an Enforcement suspension on your account, right?

    You can check for that on the Enforcement website on
    https://enforcement.xbox.com


    In order to prevent that from happening in the future:

    No matter how heated the argument gets: Never ever take the bait of someone else and find yourself using bad language in a reply.

    That way you give the other person a chance at reporting your reply and getting you banned.

    If you really want to hurt someone in an argument, check if his message or behavior violates the Xbox Live Code of Conduct and report his message.

    Then bring up that person's profile and block that account from contacting you.

    There is nothing worse for a person in an argument than being ignored.

    If you reply to his arguments, they only laugh and make fun of you, and enjoy your reaction. Being ignored and blocked is far more worse for them, and it prevents you from getting banned.

    Hello! My name is Ben a fellow member here in the community, not a Microsoft employee. Hope you are doing well!

    As a fellow gamer, I understand what you just did standing up for a friend. I am afraid no one in the community can help or check an enforcement suspension or ban.

    But you may do visit http://enforcement.xbox.com/ to see if you can file a case review to appeal about what happened. Normally, case review will only show up if the suspension is longer than 48 hours.

    In the future in case you encounter such thing in a game, I suggest to mute or block them instead then report them specially if they are being toxic and if you think they are violating the Xbox guidelines. This would help to prevent them to turn the things against you if you say something to them.

    Hey there KingSkyFall24,

    We appreciate you posting on the forums, however the Enforcement teams don't use the forums at all and they only communicate through a
    Case Review. 24 Hour communications suspensions and Console Suspensions are not reviewable, however you can find more information in these cases through the communication sent
    by the teams to the email address associated with your Xbox Live Gamertag. Remember that all suspensions are only enforced when a breach of the
    Code of Conduct or
    Microsoft Services Agreement has happened.

    One of the common myths is that people who report another user for no reason will see that person suspended. This is not the case and in fact is subject to action as well for false reports which you can find more information about Enforcement Myths HERE.

    If you believe the suspension was in error and if you're eligible, you can submit a case review using the steps
    HERE, however sometimes you're asked to complete a short questionnaire before you can submit a case review. All of the questions refer to the
    Code of Conduct, which you should review prior to filing the review. If you fail on the questionnaire during the Case Review, don't worry as you'll be given another chance in 24 hours.
