I am prompted to Join Xbox Live and can not play online

I have the same problem and I can download games with gold but cannot play online games. Please help

Hi, I am having a similar problem. I bought the game digitally from the Xbox store for the series X/S. I download the 90GB game, but when I try and click play, I get a prompt to join gamepass, which I don’t want to (I already have a Xbox Live Subscription). Then I get a prompt saying that I am missing privileges to play online.

If I may ask, are you getting a message prompt stating that you can't play online multiplayer due to your account and privacy settings? If yes, you can simply sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings and from there make sure that these settings are set to “allow” or “everyone”:

* You can join cross-network play

* You can see and upload community creations

* You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text

* Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites

* You can play with people outside of Xbox Live

* You can create and join clubs

* You can join multiplayer games

Make sure to hit “submit” when you made any changes.

I'm seeing the same problem.

On two different Xbox Ones I'm unable to join a party or play any online games. Instead I get prompted to buy xbox live gold. I've checked the subscription page online (and on the xbox) and it says I still have a valid subscription.

Can I have the exact message prompt? It may be asking you for an Xbox Live Gold subscription which is required to play an online multiplayer game.
