    I am not able to buy a Xbox 360 game that is backward compatible on my Xbox One


    I have been a lifelong PlayStation guy, I just bought my very first Xbox a couple of weeks ago and now I know why I have never had one before. Why Microsoft and Xbox need to make everything so complicated is beyond me. If you want to buy a game on PlayStation,
    you just put money in your account and Bam! you have a game. On here I have a credit card attached and also money in a Microsoft account and yet it still won't let me purchase anything...the games I am after are Xbox and Xbox 360 compatible to the Xbox One
    but it says I have no "Valid Pay Option" when in fact I have 2. Now I'm reading through multiple threads that I need to have a Xbox 360 in order to buy these games and only then will they be available on my Xbox One. The only reason I bought this system was
    for the 4K availability... can't wait for the PS5 to come out.

    Xbox One backwards compatibility

    The "Backwards Compatibility" only exists for games that they have told the XBox ONE to recognise as "Backwards Compatible".

    Most of the games on the XBox 360 simply will not work on the XBox ONE.

    Microsoft will claim the reason they can't make everything available at once is that they need a Publisher's permission to make the game Backwards Compatible.

    But the real reason Backwards Compatibility exists is to lure XBox 360 owners who have been on the fence for a while into the false supposition that they will be able to play their 360 games on the ONE.

    If you could do that... why not buy a ONE?

    Hi,

    The Xbox 360 version of State of Decay is not backwards compatible with the Xbox One, which is why it won't appear on your library. If you're still interested in this game you need to buy the Xbox One version.

    If a 360 game is not on the Backwards compatible list you won't be able to play it on your Xbox One regardless of you owning the title.

    There is not a One version of the game, but the 360 version is backwards compatible so it will play on the One.
    Thanks for your answer. So if I buy the game I can download it on my Xbox One despite I can't find it on Xbox One store? I think if the game is backward compatible it would also be available in the Xbox One store. Or am I wrong?

    I was trying to buy it now, and it seems to be available to XBOX 360. But it says unavailable on the xbox one entry. I don't know how it works, but if I buy 360 game, will I be able to use in xbox one??

    Hi there, as far as I am aware you are not able to play Xbox One games on an Xbox 360. You can play some 360 games on an Xbox One if they are on the Backwards Compatibility list. But not the other way around.
