Thank you Digital Assassin for the information. However I don't hesitate to put up a fuss considering my overall investments, arguments, etc. I believe i have adequately paid for that right. That is what wakes them up to considering these things. Digital
purchases should be honored when it is possible, which it is, it is bad consumer practice otherwise. I look to the near future with hope, however... will consider all digital purchases online more carefully in the future. This is not just a console debate,
this is a debate online period. How should digital online purchases be handled in the future. What is their reliability and overall life span? What is fair... I believe offering the same content, dlc on next gen, but locking off those who purchased it on
a previous console is a way to destroy over consumer trust. They can't say it isn't available, when it is, they can't say you bought the digital content from someone else. If you buy digital downloadable content on xbox live and they still offer that digital
downloadable content on next gen then it should be available to the consumer who purchased it. I understand if it is not available, I understand hardware, however... I do not like making a digital purchase on xbox 360, see the same digital purchase available
on their marketplace, yet they choose not to honor my purchase. I hope they will... I hope common sense prevails...

 

You were locked out of your digital purchases? Weird... My digital purchases still work on the same console I bought them on in the first place.

No Code you are wrong once again, you are talking about hardware, I am talking about online digital downloadable content that is still available on xbox one. If it makes you feel better to talk nonsense and act as if I am stupid fine, but at least read
my comments. You keep muttering about hardware, I am talking about downloadable digital purchases under a gamer tag. As for other comments concerning xbox live 360 being phased out, go talk to your local gaming distributors, see what they tell you is happening
in December 2015. Will it be stopped, delayed, I hope so, I am not the only one angry about losing online digital download purchases, ask them. If it is lost, but not sold on xbox one, that is fine, but if lost on xbox live 360, but available for purchase
on xbox one live, I think that is wrong. I understand that it may be different, such as minecraft, however for those who already owned it like me it went from 19.99 to 4.99, that is "fair." However it should actually be different, if it is the same content,
it should be free, the end. If they upgraded, changed everything, then they should offer it at a discount price to those who already own the digital downloadable content, it should be common sense, in favor of the consumers, fans, who supported Xbox Live
for many years, trusting downloadable purchases.

 

So... What exactly do you think it is that plays your games? It's the hardware. I never said you were stupid, but you are obviously very ignorant when it comes to technology. Just because my old Sony VHS player was able to play my tapes doesn't mean that
I would expect my new Sony DVD player to play VHS tapes. You may not be able to see the same physical differences in the media, but that doesn't mean that the differences don't exist. I can download mp3s and mp4s. Do you expect your mp3 player to play videos
too because both formats can be downloaded?

As for your local game distributors, either they're idiots or you misunderstood them. Nothing is going to stop you from using your 360 or the content you purchased in January. If you actually believe this, please go find a credible source and then post your
findings. The pimple riddled kid trying to sell you a new console at your local game store does not count as a credible source.

 

Lets break this down one item at a time.

1) Digital Games and their DLC: In a few days some 100 360 titles will become BC on the X1, with more to follow each month. So if you bought say. Gears 1, 2, 3 with DLC on the 360 last year. In a few days those titles will be available for downloading to
your X1.

2) Digital Music/Movie purchases: I've no idea how that works as I have never bought any. Yet, something like that should be tied to your account and not what hardware (Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS etc) correct?

3) Xbox 360 being phased out in Dec/Jan 2016: That rumor has be been circulated, even by some at Xbox phone Support months ago. Still no Official word as to it's validity oming from MS. Yet with BC in a few days, people who own a 360 and those who own an
Xbox one can play MP online together. (Umm. If I heard right) - And Spencer (MS) no longer saying. 'We shipped' but rather. 'We have X number on Xbox Live (Including 360 gamers) Tells me that the xbox 360 will be around for years to come.

Off topic: I am an Xbox 360 campaign gamer with no intention of going current gen anytime in the forseeable future... unless someone offers me one for dirty dirt cheap again. And I think these retailers who told you (3) did so with the intention of getting
you to buy an X1 from them... But then again... Who knows!

 

Terraria and Diablo are multi platform games that could be why you have to purchase DLC all over again. Xbox 360 and Xbox One are considered separate platforms. The same rule applies to DLC.

Blame publishing and legal mumbo jumbo which is on the publishers end.

The new backwards compatibility feature that comes out in a few days will allow you to play all of your old Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One. Disk or digital version. So if your game is on the approved list you can download it again on your Xbox One. Which
saves having to purchase an Xbox One version. Whether or not a game gets put into the program is solely up to the publisher.

In regards to movies and music I have no knowledge of as I never used the service on either console. I am guessing licensing probably also plays a part in it.

 

Hi OP...I think you misunderstand or misunderstood BC on X1... It doesn't cover any game or dlc you might have purchased. Only games that devs or publishers have allowed. I understand that there are games on both systems,...like AC black Flag in 2013. Any
dlc WONT carry over to your new console. If u buy it on the X1 you get it...anything else is NON-TRANSFERABLE..

I believe what the OP is referring to is he purchased some games that have both a 360 version and a xbox one version. To the OP the games are built differently for the newer system and that is not on microsoft for trying to double dip but on the publisher
of the games in question cause they do have some companies that did upgrade programs last year around launch. Dont blame microsoft for being greedy blame activision for diablo and whoever made terraria cause they are the ones profitting by you buying 2 versions.
I agree with you that the games that are unchanged should be honored but your blame needs to be directed in the right place so your voice can be heard.

 

How did you expect your games to carry over to the Xbox One if the Xbox One didn't play 360 games? You are sounding very ignorant with your constant rants. Why is it that everyone else just know how it works and you don't? research. ON NOVEMBER 12th, backwards
compatibility will hit Xbox One. ANY and all games backwards compatible, that YOU have purchased from the 360, will show in Games and Apps, ready to download.

Thank you JayT504 for the useful information, you certainly have a point. My issue is greed in digital downloadable purchases and the double dipping, thank you for understanding what I am actually talking about. I fear it is going the same way as micro
transactions and selling content already on the disc, just locked out for more money etc.

 

Again Defown read what I am actually talking about, I did not expect that, what I expected was my digital downloadable dlc that I bought on xbox 360 Live to, if available, to still be honored on xbox one live, digital content. For example... you bought
a dlc map on xbox 360 live, download digital content only, and even though it is still available for digital download purchase on xbox one live they expect us to buy it again. Again my issue is with honoring digital purchases etc. If it is not available
on xbox one I am fine with that, but if we purchased a map pack and they are selling the same map pack why was I locked out of my purchase? I believe some has made good arguments that my conflict may not be xbox but the developers, I certainly would like
to know who's idea that was, aka double dipping.
