I had to turn it off an on multiple times also. I dont know if that helped or not. I feel your pain though. I sat and stated at the support screen for a solid hour last night in disbelief shock before I tried anything.

Yeah I was thinking that music and movies should carry over, no? I personally don't use Xbox for those services, but that would actually be silly if they didn't go across, I'm almost positive they do though.

As for the games, did you only recently purchase the console? I'm finding it hard to believe in all this time you didn't hear it wasn't 100% backwards compatible? As D33dles said, you might be in luck in the coming weeks/months anyway.

Any content I had on my 360 prior to my X1 is still on my 360.... where it should be... hence old gen. Other than any BC games right now that show up. All movies stayed on my 360, why would they transfer over to the X1? It is a different gen console. OP
hasn't lost anything... it just wont transfer over to his X1...

 

OP is obviously new to the interval between new console generations.

 

Op,you haven't lost any of your purchases.They are still there in your purchase history.

Unless you deleted them they are still on your 360 hdd.If not then you can re download them from your download history.

Really not sure why you would think they are all gone.

 

I understand, as I have stated clearly that they are on my 360. However many of my favorite games, Terraria and Diablo ROS, (that is just 2 of many... many games, dlc) plus DLC, because I purchased them as downloads, are not! I have checked, it prompts
me to purchase them again. Yes I can play them on the 360, however I was told that 360 Live and Marketplace will start being "phased out in December." So how long will I be able to? Will we still have access to our dlc when they stop supporting 360 in favor
of One? 360 Live and Marketplace are already suffering, I am not the only one noticing this, party chat, chat in general is a mess due to NAT and regional issues, transitions etc. This is not, btw, my first cross over... however it is my first change over
losing online content and purchases. I new it was not compatible, however, I did not think that meant losing online XBOX Live purchases, I considered hard copy games, as in the past, not online content that should, in my opinion, easily transition. Yes...

Perhaps the next time you purchase something, you should actually research what you're buying first. Did you make the same complaints when you figured out your VHS tapes wouldn't work on your DVD player?

 

And I suppose you feel they should still have online support for the original Xbox as well

 

I did research it and I think transitioning from vhs to DVD is very different. Are you actually reading my posts?! Again, online xbox live purchases are what I am talking about. No I would not be mad switching from vhs to DVD duh... however I do get mad
when a manufacturer doesn't support its own product. It is more like buying a DVD player, it breaks, then you go buy another DVD player from the same manufacturer but your dvds don't work and they say sorry go buy those same dvds again, that is a better example.

 

Again I am talking about online xbox download purchases people, read my posts! Are you saying XBOX Live should not be expected to honor online download purchases? Is XBOX Live on the Xbox One so different from 360 that they can not honor online download
purchases, content, dlc, that they purchase? They are still selling the games and dlc on Xbox One, I purchased it on 360, why should I be forced to purchase it again? How reliable is Xbox ' digital purchases, based on what you are telling me, I should not
expect it to be reliable at all, therefore you are arguing in my favor, Xbox Live online purchases, downloadable content, rentals, not purchases, they can take them away, therefore don't invest in them, that is my arguement, the end. It is still "xbox live"
on the Xbox one, I purchased them online via xbox live, strange... it is like you want to be ripped off. I come from a generation where purchases were honored and consumers have rights, this new digital generation baffles me. It is digital content, unreliable,
so I would encourage people, like me, who want to have a collection, get a hard copy with collector and resell value, the end.

 

MsCafeNoir, you are completely jumping the gun, if anything backwards compatibility has prolonged the Xbox 360's online life as Xbox is aiming to have the biggest games catalogue on a single platform, ever. You think they will cease the ability to allow
purchasing of games that are going BC etc. ?

Also the reason you have to purchase the Xbox One version of the games you already own is because BC is not out yet, 360 games that are available for download through BC will be in the 'ready to download' section in 'My games and Apps', not the marketplace
itself.

Furthermore as you seem to be a little lacking in the information you have, Xbox is going to bring in single purchases across multiple platforms, so if you buy the game on the Xbox One and it's available for windows 10 PC, you own both. I understand that
doesn't help with you current situation, but they are listening and trying to streamline this for us.

You can jump and scream about it or you can realise that we are pretty lucky they have even consider giving us some form of backwards compatibility.

dlc, etc. the end. You are making the debate pointless if you can't stay on topic. So basically most of you believe that it is ok if your xbox live download purchases are not honored on xbox one live, even if they are selling them on xbox one live? It isn't

The Xbox 360 and One use completely different architectures, and it's pretty much common knowledge that 360 games don't work one the Xbox One. You act as if you've been robbed and your 360 games no longer work on the 360. That's not the case. They still
work on the same platform you originally bought them for.

You mention something about games expiring in December. I have no idea where you got that from, but that's not the case.

You didn't have a DVD player that broke and then you purchased another DVD player. You bought a new DVD player expecting your old VHS tapes to work and obviously did absolutely no research first. Sorry if you can't accept that.
