    Anytime I install a game once I finish installing then attempt to play either with the shortcut I created or hitting play in the Xbox app an error message pops up saying that "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I am the only user on my PC and Just started having this problem seems like after I upgraded my graphics card. I save it on my G: drive but seems to be looking for it on the C: drive. If I right click properties the on the shortcut of the game the target location is application and cant open the file location. NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!

    We understand that you are trying to launch the games from Xbox App on your computer. Let us check on this together so you will get back to gaming.

    Based on your description, you stored the game on Drive G however the Xbox app is directing you to launch a game from Drive C (where the game is not located). We would like to ask if the same issue will happen if you try to install a game or app from Microsoft Store?

    Do you mind sharing to us a screenshot of the error message?

    So far, from the details you provided, you can try the following steps and let us know the result. You can just skip those you have done already.

    Method 1:

    Please see the troubleshooting available on this link for installation and launching - Troubleshoot issues with the Xbox App for Windows

    Method 2:

    Repair your apps and clear cache the Microsoft Store. Please use this guide for repairing Xbox app.

    Please go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Select the app you want to fix. Select the Advanced options link under the name of the Microsoft Store. On the page that opens, select Repair if it's available. If it isn't available, select Reset.



    Clear the store cache by typing “wsreset” in the Windows search bar. Run this as admin and wait for the screen to close and open the store automatically.

    Method 3: Run system scans

    Run a full system scan. This will check and restore corrupted system files.



    In Windows search bar, search for Command Prompt and Run as Administrator.

    Copy the command below one line at a time and paste it on Command Prompt:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    SFC /scannow

    I have an issue with Xbox for PC App (blanked out games downloaded to my PC)

    Also when in the xbox PC app "IF" I try to install a new game to my PC it says to download the gaming services this I have now done on multiple occasions and I am still getting every installed game greyout out and the continuous green Having trouble installing and playing games warning at the bottom of the screen now tired everything everyone has suggested and getting nowhere.

    Some Game Pass Games wont Start and will take up too almost an hour or more untill they launch normally.

    I am playing on Pc tried a few things from former threads but didnt help it, i am considering reinstalling my Windows but read that didn't help either for some people got no problem with games from EA Play that i have installed via Xbox Games Pass these games work fine, but some which i guess are only avaible through Xbox Services are having this trouble launching probably.

    Just bought my first PC in years, with Windows 11 and I am having the exact same problem - cannot install any GamePass Games via the Xbox App and I have made sure everything is activated, updated and tried all steps except the step that requires a fresh install of the OS because even though its a brand new PC I have already spent the last 24 hours installing and configuring all sorts of software with no issues and I cannot justify undoing all of that just because Xbox App is not playing ball.
