I am having issues using the "choose a state" options for purchasing an item. What do i do?

May I know the device/platform where you're trying to purchase an item for? Also, from which country or region are you currently located?

Alternatively, you can update your account billing and shipping address to https://account.microsoft.com website > Payment & billing > Adress book.

Please be advised that when purchasing something online, your physical location, account region, payment method issuance and store region should all match to avoid billing error.

There will be a code if we purchase an item as a gift, you should see "buy as a gift" and enter the Gamertag. Were you able to choose the said option as I have checked, there is no option for in-game currency to purchase as a gift on Microsoft Store.

When using a split payment we need to choose the Microsoft balance first. May I ask what was the item that you purchased?

Kindly sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/services and check what is the status of your subscription. If it's stated as "suspended" kindly choose to "Pay Now". If you have been charged already you shouldn't be charged by choosing the option.
