I am having an issue linking my Xbox account to switch

Hello JayC095, on the Xbox side you can check if there is already an Epic account linked to your Microsoft account.

To do so, click on the link below and log in with your Microsoft account that you use to play and see the services that are linked.

If you want to do this verification on the Epic Games side, you will have to log in to the Epic Game website with the email account you used to create the login, and do this account link verification.

Thank you for the help. How do I found out the email I may have used through epic games to link through my Microsoft account? I may have made another on accident since I thought I linked it to my primary email but every time I try to link it on epic games with my primary email name it says it’s already linked to another account so I assume I may have used a different username

Yes, you can. As long as your Switch and Xbox account is linked to your Epic account, you will be able to play the same account on both Switch and Xbox.

To check the accounts linked to your Epic, kindly go to this link https://www.epicgames.com/account/connections and ensure that you connect the correct Epic account to link your Switch and Xbox accounts.

This way, when you launch Fortnite on Switch or Xbox console, you will be able to use the account where you have all your progress and in-game purchases.

Unfortunately the cross platform option also doesn’t seem to be working for me - maybe because the account I linked is in my sons name (age 12)? It says multiplayer/cross platform is restricted in settings. I’ve tried to amend his MS account settings but to no avail - so that’s another issue I’m having!

Do you know if I am able to unlink my sons Microsoft account from the PS4 and link it to his switch instead? I’ve heard issues whereby once an account is linked to a PS 4 it can’t be unlinked.

I’m having nothing but problems!!

UPDATE - managed to sign out of the PS4 MS account in minecraft and then signed in on the Switch with the same account - so the 1720 coins are now at least on the switch.

So I guess my next challenge is to somehow unlock the multiplayer/cross platform settings in my sons MS account. At least we then have the option of signing in and out of the 2 platforms.
