  1. I am experiencing input lag on brand new Xbox One S

a couple weeks ago, my original xbox console developed huge input lag, and after trying everything and all troublshooting steps including but not limited to: different controllers, different hdmi cable, different tv, factory reset, clearing persistant
storage, clear mac address, factory reset, tried playing offline, i concluded the fault was with the console.

I bought a new xbox one s recently, and the input lag has been reduced by 80% but i still feel some left. I have no idea what on earth is causing this or how to fix it. I haven't changed any settings on the console, and I haven't changed my TV settings
for ages, so I don't know. The new xbox one s controller has tougher sticks to move, more stiff, but even when i use my old controllers, i can still feel the problem. The lag is especially noticeable when making small incrementing movements with my gun, and
i am having difficulty tracking moving targets.

I thought maybe there is something wrong with my profile, or perhaps some sort of wireless interference is messing with my console, but people I ask say this is impossible.

Also, just today, I loaded up my old original xbox one console just to see if it still has terrible input lag. I hadn't loaded it up for about a week and it's just been sitting there. Anyway I loaded it up, and I realised the input lag had IMPROVED
to the same level of input lag as the new Xbox One S! How does that make any sense? The input lag on both consoles are both worse than before all my problems began, but how did the original console improve? I also changed my home console to the new xbox one
s before I noticed this improvement, so I don't know if that shows that it might be some sort of account issue.

So basically: There was no noticeable input lag on my OG xbox one before these problems began. Then one day I went to play a game, and discovered HUGE input lag. a couple weeks later, I buy a new xbox one S console. The input lag improved by a lot,
but there was still some left, but my OG console continued to have lots of input lag. Fast forward another week, and my OG console has magically improved to the same level of input lag as my new xbox one S.

Also, I am able to accurately test input lag, by turning the sound up on my TV speaker, and turning my headphones on. I can measure input lag by how delayed the TV sound is in comparison to the headphones.

Any help at all is really appreciated because I have no idea what on earth is going on.

    :)

    how does multiplayer play?

It's not input lag he's referring to. Your input lag in particular should be outstanding from the looks of it. What you're experiencing and what the OP is referring to is the beauty of the Call of Duty Franchise, good ol' internet Lag Compensation. One of
the major reasons I stopped playing the MP for this franchise.

Your TV can be a possible source of delay, since it requires a tiny bit of time to process a 1080p/4K image on the screen. TVs can have input lags ranging from 10-150ms, depending on the model and resolution setting.

See if there's a "Game Mode" option in your TV's picture settings. Game Mode disables some TV image rendering features (very subtle, you likely wouldn't notice a difference) to let the TV produce an image faster, and thus reduce input lag.

Also, check if you get the same amount of input lag when you plug your Xbox into other TV sets.

It may also be worth running a few network tests on your console just incase this is part of the problem as well.

  6. I tried both of those things. Note that I said this problem developed randomly without changing any settings, so it doesn't make sense that the TV settings are wrong because I had the same settings before all this began.

  7. I already tried going offline and shutting my router down so it can't be this.

  9. I'm not trying to be rude to anyone and I do really appreciate all the help, but I would advise re-reading my OP before suggesting something because I have tried LOTS of things and there's a good chance I've already tried it. I've tried every troubleshooting
step and everything I can think of.
