    1. Driver incompatibility caused by a system update (conflict between Intel DCH drivers and legacy DX7 calls).
    2. Interruption in the DirectDraw hardware acceleration channel (Error Code PVF_1: 10).
    Have you tried the solution provided by Nicholas.Z – MSFT? If you have tried it but the issue persists, we recommend performing a clean installation of an older version of Windows 11. The specific steps are as follows:

    1. Prepare a USB drive and download the Windows 11 23H2 ISO file.
    2. Copy the ISO file to the USB drive and set it as the first boot option.
    3. Reinstall the system.

    Due to the compatibility conflict between Windows 11 24H2 and DirectX, the game may not be able to run in DirectX 9. It is recommended that you try the following method:

    Find your game shortcut, right-click it, select Properties, and then in the Target column, add -dx9 (note the space in front of the symbol -). See if it can solve your problem.

    It seems that this is related to the system compatibility of the latest version of Window 11. I suggest you try to roll back and update to the previous version:

    I. uninstall updates:

    1.Windows update >, select "start > settings". Under related settings, select update history > uninstall updates or use the following shortcut:

    2. Select the update you want to delete from the list, and then select Uninstall.





    II. Rollback the system

    If the above scheme can't uninstall the update, and you haven't updated for 10 days, and you have kept the Windows.old and $windows.~bt folders, you can also try to roll back to the previous version of Windows. Please refer to the specific steps:

    III. Restore the system from the restore point (if you have a restore point)

    If you can't roll back to the old version of Windows 11 system, in order to ensure that your game can run perfectly, you can try to install the old version of Windows 11 completely.     I always get this when I open Ragnarok Online

    I got this error ever since I upgraded my windows to the latest version this happened. I got no problems playing this game with the previous version.

    I've tried doing what you suggested but the game still crashes.

    We understand that you will get an error when you open the game Ragnarok Online.

    Judging from the content you provided, the problem may be related to game components and compatibility. I suggest you try the following scheme:

    I. Reinstall the game

    Delete all the current game files, and then visit Ragnarok Online in official website to download the game again. Will the same problem appear after the installation?



    II. install DirectX component and C++ component package:

    -DirectX

    Download DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer from Official Microsoft Download Center



    -C++

    Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn





    III. re-register all dll files

    1. search for cmd in the start menu and run cmd as an administrator.

    2. Enter directly at the command prompt in the cmd window:

    for %1 in (%windir%/system32/*.dll) do regsvr32.exe /s %1
    Tip: You can copy and paste the above commands directly.

    3. press the "enter" key

    Next, we will start to re-register all the DLL files in the system. Please be patient.

    4. When the command prompt flashes, the registration is over. Enter exit directly at the command prompt and press "Enter" to exit, and see if the problem can be solved.



    IV. try to repair the system

    1. Search CMD, find the command prompt, and choose to run in administrator mode.

    2. Enter the following commands one by one. Please be sure to execute the next command after the last one is completed.

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    SFC /Scannow
    3. After scanning, you can check the scanning information, and check whether the problem has been detected and fixed.



    V. repair the system through Media Creation Tool

    This is not a reinstallation of the system, it will repair your system without deleting files or applications. However, if there is important data in the computer, we still recommend backing it up in advance.

    Once the backup is completed, please follow the steps in the following guide:

    Download Windows 11

    Visit the site above and select Download Now Tool-Run Media Creation Tool-Select Yes-Select Accept-Select Create Installation Media for Another Computer-Select DVD ISO File-Save as Local File.



    Run the local WINDOWS. ISO file-right-click-mount-choose to run setup.exe-choose not to use it temporarily-choose to keep personal files and settings-choose Next-wait for WINDOWS Repair installation to complete-restart the WINDOWS computer.



    Disclaimer: At this point, we have exhausted all troubleshooting and I recommend that we try to perform a clean install to get your computer back into a working condition. Please ensure that you backup any important data, including Documents, Pictures, Videos, and more.
