I always get stupid issues…

Xbox series X was working fine but crashed on a game and shut itself off.

Then it wouldn’t connect to wireless. I did a few things like the Mac and a power cycle but no difference. I noticed the Xbox thought it was connected to Wi-Fi but actually wasn’t. Things seemed to get worse until it then wouldn’t find any networks at all but If I did a network test it said everything was good which was odd.

I thought I’d try a but reset keeping my games and data. It gave me some warning about being connected to the internet and things being deleted anyway so I’m not even sure what the reset has done and I’ve probably done a full reset anyway? Who knows.

The problem now is that after the reset it still thinks it’s connected to Wi-Fi on some imaginary network. It’s not even finding any networks! So because it can’t find the update it gives me 3 options.

1. Try again.

2. Check Network (Nothing being found)

3. Turn off console.

I haven’t got a modem to do a wired connection so this is where I’m at. Not really expecting any miracle answers but is there a way I can do a full reset without actually getting into the Xbox menu? I feel like I’ve bricked my Xbox basically, what a move.

I'm sorry to hear you've been experiencing some issues with your console.

You can do a full reset through the console's troubleshooting menu, this is how to do it:

- Turn your console off and unplug it for 30 seconds.

- Plug your console back into the outlet.

- While the console is off, press and hold the BIND and EJECT buttons.

- Without letting go of them, press the power button once (do not hold).

- Continue holding BIND and EJECT for 15 seconds.

* The BIND button is the one used to link controllers to your console and the EJECT button is the one used to eject disc games.

If the troubleshooting menu comes up, select "Reset Xbox" > "Remove everything"

Just keep in mind you'll need your account details to sign in after the reset is done.

*** Resetting your console to its factory defaults erases all accounts, saved games, settings, and home Xbox associations. Anything not synchronized with Xbox Live will be lost. If your console was constantly connected to the internet, your saved data should be backed up on the cloud.

- What kind of network are you using? is it a hotspot?

- Do you have any external devices plugged into your console's USB ports?

This fixed my issue. Not the stupid recommendations from the advisor dude. I always ignore their responses.

This has been an issue for a couple years. Frankly, I find it really stupid. Because of this, I ALWAYS play FIFA 14 with my Kinect disabled.
