I apologize, but just a friendly reminder that for enforcement action there is a dedicated team that handles them which is the enforcement team. There is no direct contact with them, only by reporting and filing a case review.

To help you, I would recommend asking your friend to sign in to https://enforcement.xbox.com to get more details along with checking if your friend is eligible to file a case review. There is no option to undo the reports that we have made.

You cannot accidentally report someone as there is about 4 clicks you have to make to submit the report.

If they were banned then what they said was offensive, regardless of whether you thought it was offensive or not. You friend will need to suck it up and be more careful with what he says, even when talking to friends.

This happened to a friend once. The one player was a really annoying one and started using curse words in the Xbox Chat. My friend used one too but the other guy reported him. He got banned for couple days but i told him to contact Microsoft support. They
help him out he got unbanned after a day and the other guy got banned afterwards.
