I accidentally change my name in Xbox can I just change it back to what it was

So, I was changing my name it said someone else had it so it put the numbers next to it, I didn’t want that. So I wanted to go back to change it with no prompt telling me how to gp back I pressed “change gamertag” thinking I could go back and change it. This in fact confirmed my new gamertag that I did not want. I was wondering if I could just get my old one back because there was no prompt telling me how to go back, as well as no warning that after this name change it would be $10 .

I regret your mistake but only the first change of GT (GamerTag) is free, the rest you must pay $10 for each change.

The only way to go back would be to change your tag again and pay for the change.

I would recommend you to participate in the MS Rewards program. If you do the dailies you could earn enough points for a GT change in less than a month !

Ok well…. Hmmmm that’s really hard on me because I kinda just got scammed . and it 10 DOLLARS. That’s ridiculous.

Some time ago, Microsoft changed it so multiple people can have the same gamertag...each separate one is identified by the numbers after the name. So, 2 people can have the gamertag "username" for example...one would be, say, "username4589" and the other "username3629". In the past it used to be only one gamertag instance at a time

Unfortunately, far as I know, there is no way to reverse it as you only get one free gamertag name change
