Hunter: The Reckoning physical disc not recognized for BC.

I have recently purchased a physical copy of Hunter: The Reckoning to use with the BC program. I went to install and when I put in the disc it told me that it is not compatible. After a few inserts, I hard reset the console and it was giving the same error.
I inserted a newer BC game (Brutal Legend) and it picked up and installed without issue. Digging into a google search I am running across other users with a similar issue.

In fact, I was unable to find anyone anywhere that got this game working through BC with a physical disc. I am convinced that the physical disc for this game was not added. For a bit more background, the copy i have is a plain US copy and the game is available
for purchase digitally on the Xbox One.

Hunter The Reckoning: Redeemer?

So I was wondering. Why isn't Hunter the Reckoning: Redeemer supported on the Xbox 360? I was looking through the list of supported games and Hunter the Reckoning is supported, but not Hunter the Reckoning: Redeemer. If anyone can answer this for me I'd
appreciate it greatly. I don't want to have to go out and buy another original Xbox just to play the game.

 

Will Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition on-disk DLC be supported in backwards compatibility?

At the moment disc based DLC is not recognized in BC games. However you could make the suggestion at the feedback site to include it.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. What is the condition of the disc? It's possible that it's too worn out or scratched for the Xbox one to read it.

Aside from that, when you say that you performed a hard reset did you mean a
powercycle or a
factory reset?

 

Did a power cycle, but have performed a factory reset in the last 2 months (the game was released to BC in April). The disc was bought in like new condition and reads the disc title on an Xbox 360 (although it does not play as the game is not compatible
with the Xbox 360 BC program).

We understand that the game Hunter: The Reckoning is not allowing access on your Xbox One console.

A suggestion is to try following our Playing backward-compatible games on your Xbox One article. One
thing to try:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select Disc & Blu-ray.
5. Select Blu-ray settings
6. Persistent Storage
   
   Use this setting to clear Blu-ray–specific data that's been cached to the console

Give these steps a shot, and let us know if these work.

I cleared the bluray cache and read through thr guide following all instructions. There is no change. Still getting the "This game isnt playable here" message. Judging from other users, it seems this physical disc was never whitelisted for play. Could
we get this issue bumped a support level? I have over 100 BC games and this is the only title that is not recognized.

The game as it appears on our Available Backward Compatible Games should be available via disc or digital.

Attempt to follow this Troubleshoot playing Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One article.

One suggestion would also be to try the same disc on a different console, even with this being the only title that does not play, this would be just to make sure that the Optimal Disc Drive is not the cause of the issue.

Try this out and let us know if this works.

I have figured it out. This is such a dumb error. Turns out the game store I bought the disc from put the Redeemer disc in the case for the original game. As only the original game is compatible, and not it's sequel, of course it was not working. Thank
you everyone for trying to help.
