Humble request to Xbox team and U.S. gamers

Hi! My story begins somewhere in summer last year. I was raging on forum that Xbox One will not been released on day one in Poland. There were many replies but the conclusion was simple. I will not be able to buy console in my country. As a dedicated xbox
gamer i have decided that i will get my Xbox One no matter of cost. So i've mailed to my friend from U.S. and asked him to pre-order two consoles and few games for me and my teammate. It was about September. On release date he recieved consoles,packed and
send it via USPS on 9th of December. Next day my package arrived to sort facility and vanished... My friend from NY submitted a claim to USPS but they are delaying as long as they can. I have contacted them myself but i was also told that they dont know where
it is and i have to wait to march 25th so they can solve something out. Can You help me in any way? Maybe some advice what should i do? Thanks in advance P.S. My English is bad as always. Sorry and i hope You will understand everything.

Thank You for Your post. The region and video format is not a problem. You can select region from dashboard and after choosing UK or US it will work. About the NTSC or PAL... Since Xbox is connected via HDMI cable it doesn't matter. Its digital input and
this restriction don't apply. I also made similar thread on Xbox One General Discussion and got a lot of positive feedback. For now I am waiting for response from USPS. If they will say that they can't find my package I will probably take some legal action,
because it appears it was stolen. I am desperate to get my package by any means necessary.

Sorry, I don't know what else you can do to get your package, but are you sure that LIVE and NTSC games would be supported in your region? I would think if they have not yet released the One in your region that it would not be supported, and even if it were
I don't think you would be able to play NTSC games since they were not intended to be played in that region.

 

I'm not very versed in legal situations, but it sounds like someone may have nicked it. Your friend may have to contact UPS and tell them exactly what kind of action you both dare prepared to take.

 

Hmm. Seems you should have bought it from Germany.

UPS has a habit in the US of losing things then blaming the customer. Be prepared to take legal action and they will "magically" find you one.

 

I have tried to buy it from UK but it was already too late to pre-order Day One Edition. And it is USPS (Postal Service, not the courier company) who just don't give a single... you know what about losing 20kg package that was worth almost 2k USD. I am
totally frustrated and don't know what to do to force them to find it.

 

I work for usps. How did you send the package? Express? Did you request insurance or signature tracking? Do you have the tracking number?

 

Priority Mail International. Yes, the package was insured. Tracking no is CJ010262037US. It vanished next day right after it was sent from NY.

 

I hate to state the obvious, but it looks like someone stole it. This is not a common thing. We have over 600,000 employees and processed over 158,000,000,000 items last year. There are corrupt people in every career field...Police, teachers, priests,
package handlers. All it takes is one bad apple....I'm really sorry that you were inconvenienced like this. Who did you file a complaint with? Over the phone, over the website, with the postal inspectors?

 

Thank You for your words. My friend made a complaint by phone and he is waiting 4th week to receive some papers to fill them to get the insurance. I just wished that Microsoft could back me up and force USPS to find the package or to find the one who stole
it. I have just lost my money and time...

 

Even if someone stole it, is it not "insured" for theft via the shipping company? A tracking number should be proof enough that the package was received by UPS. I would advise legal advise.

It has nothing to do with MS, they carried out there end of the deal.

 

Of Course it is insured from theft, but they are delaying everything since first complaint made at the end of December. And it is obvious that Microsoft has nothing to do with this case but if they could support my case in the US I bet my package would be
found almost instantly.

 

He's talking about the USPS not UPS. I had an envelope with Christmas gifts show up open and empty this year. The USPS carrier actually had me sign for an empty envelop. He just kind of shrug his shoulders and muttered something about calling somebody.
I contacted the retailer and he replaced my items for free. Great guys but he said that this happens "often" when he ships to the U.S (theft). They were Dosh wallets BTW. Great wallets and a great company.

 

Man, I understand your frustration. I would be livid as well. But multibillion dollar corporation Microsoft isn't going to flex their muscles to help one guy find his console. In fact, no one at Microsoft even knows about the ordeal you are going through
right now. My advice, call the USPS and threaten them with a lawsuit. Or better yet, don't threaten. Have your lawyer contact them.

 

Last time i've tried to call it ended up with listening ads for about 60min for which i had to pay almost 100$. Maybe i could tweet to MS. If gamers would support my back by retweeting it, maybe it will work. Would you kindly (bioshock style help me if
