    Hulu plus surround


    Is the hulu plus app on Xbox one in surround sound ? all my games and bluray movies play correctly in 5.1 but the hulu plus app just plays out of the front. I put the stereo around the entire room with my Yamaha system so I hear something from behind
    me.

    I reported this problem to Hulu and they don't really seem interested in recognizing it. The same issue happens on PS4 as well.

    I've been keeping them updated with my ticket and i'm posting this thread to them as well, hopefully they can start looking into this. Some nights i don't get the buffer, but i get the skip almost as if their trying to inject a commercial but the commercial
    fails so they skip ahead for the 30-45 seconds that was to be the break.

    Hey there folks,

    When you have Hulu Plus open, you should be able to say "Xbox, Help" and you'll bring up some different help options for that app. One of the options is Error Troubleshooting which will give you some detailed steps on these 3 suggestions:

    1. Test your Network Connection - You may also want to try the steps in our
      Low Streaming Quality Troubleshooter
    2. Powercycle your Network
    3. Uninstall the App

    Please let us know how that goes and we'll work from there.

    Yeah I'd like the know the same thing. Amazon and Netflix supports 5.1 surround, but not all apps.

    The fact that I couldn't find am answer makes me believe other people have it working. Side not however when I had cable thst box didn't put shows in 5.1 either

    Hulu doesn't support 5.1. Only stereo.

    Looks like from what I found on Hulu and using a search engine is the following information from Hulu. Hulu itself does NOT support 5.1 surround sound

    By comparison, Amazon offers 5.1 encoding on select content, and Hulu is limited to stereo sound, despite many network television shows offering 5.1 surround sound.
