Hulu app won't allow B button to go back

Since a recent Hulu app update the B button will no longer take you back to any previous screen. Otherwise everything else works. The only way out is to use the guide button and exit the app.

Hulu won't let me out

I had to re-download the Hulu app after the update a bit ago. Now Hulu won't let me exit the app once I go into it. The B button doesnt work and neither does any other button. Hulu is the only app I am having this problem with. I have to turn off the entire
console in order to leave Hulu.

Hulu on Xbox One sometimes unresponsive

This is the only app I am having trouble with Where my only option ends up being to shut off the entire console an turn it back on (which I can do from the controller even though Hulu doesn't respond to the controller). Here is a list of the problems I might
have on a given day:

Everything works fine until I want to exit out of Hulu and then the B button doesn't work and I have to turn off the entire console to get out of Hulu

I go into Hulu and it asks me if I want to start off by watching a recently watched program. At which point I cannot select "no thanks" or even agree to watch what they are suggesting. No button works and I have to turn off the entire console to exit.

i go into Hulu and then can do nothing at all. It won't respond to the controller. I must shut off the entire console and log back on.

Is this an updated app issue because this is a relatively new problem. I can back from vacation last week and that is when this problem started.

Why has no one else noticed that you can't use the "B" in Hulu? Without a controller, that is, just using a remote, this is a big problem. At least, it has been for me. What am I missing?

Yes, but as I have now said twice, I am referring to using teh button when "browsing" i.e. browsing music folders, browsing the many games or apps in the store - the only way to go "back" is to use the B button. This has absolutely nothing to do with switching
app.

The problem is that they have implemented the B button for both a "back" button and a "return to last app" button when there is no more steps back for it to go - as Dwoop says, this leads to a clumsy interface and for me is not particularly nice to use.

It seems simple to implement using the X button or the Xbox button, to bring up a menu that allows you to switch between "open apps" - very simple, and would be perfectly usable.

Sorry it took so long to try this, but no that didn't work. I had previously uninstalled then reinstalled, but this time I uninstalled then did the power cycle then reinstalled. The B button and the LB button just get me back to the top of the Hulu page.

Are you logged into your xbox and the console companion with the same gamertag?

Check that your Xbox One console allows Xbox Console Companion app connections. You’ll find this on the console by pressing the Xbox button  to
open the guide, going to System > Settings, selecting Preferences > Xbox
app connectivity, and then selecting Allow connections from any device.

I recommend trying to reset the Xbox app:

Press Windows Key + I to open the Settings app.
Go to the Apps section.
Locate the Xbox app on the list and click on Advanced options.
Scroll down and click the Reset button.

Also, make sure that your notifications are enabled and make sure that the Xbox app is allowed to send you notifications.

I can start a game but can never find a way to stop the games

Press the Xbox (logo) button on your controller to go back to Home and exit the
app or game. Make sure the app is highlighted, and press the Menu (hamburger) menu button on your controller. In the menu, you'll find a number of options, including a Quit button,
select it and press A to exit the app.
