Just had HughesNet Gen 5 installed, (only internet option), would like to use the movie/video features on my xbox 360 but it will not connect to XBOX live. Any suggestions?

2. HughesNet Gen4 and Xbox Live

Hello.

I currently have HughesNet (yes I understand that HughesNet sucks) and I'm considering upgrading to HughesNet Gen 4. However, I've read about some people having connection issues with Gen 4 and Xbox Live. Can anyone tell me about their experiences. If Gen4
really does work with xbox live. Right now, normal HughesNet allows me to connect/download stuff from Live but I can't play games minus the occasional Mass Effect 3/Crysis 2 match and I can't join parties. If anyone can share out Gen4 works for them, please
do.

HughesNet Gen4 and Xbox Live

Greetings RedChambersN7!
I'm considering upgrading to HughesNet Gen 4. However, I've read about some people having connection issues with Gen 4 and Xbox Live.
This is correct. Some HughesNet customers with the HT1000 modem have experienced problems
connecting to Xbox LIVE. The main issue with the HT1000 and LIVE is a feature called
Web Acceleration. This feature should be turned off on the HT1000 to get the LIVE services to function properly.

: Hughesnet gen 5 problem

Hi Deuces1313,

Thanks for your post. In this particular case it sounds like the latency is affecting your connection which would then prevent you from joining/hosting multiplayer sessions. To troubleshoot latency, try checking all connections on your network setup and
ensure they are tight and well maintained. If the issue continues, you may have to contact your Internet Service Provider(ISP)for further assistance to address the issue with latency.

Also, Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) must be enabled for multiplayer sessions, if you can not enable it, your ISP should be able to allow it either on their side or by updating your router/modem's firmware to support UPnP.

I hope this information helps.

Hughesnet gen 5 problem

Hi Deuces1313,

Thanks for the update with your reply. Since you seem to be getting disconnected from Xbox Live during game play randomly, I'd recommend that you troubleshoot your connection using our support article entitled "My
Xbox One is getting randomly disconnected from Xbox Live"
. Additionally, if you're using a wireless connection, you may to try a hard wired (Ethernet) connection if possible as well to rule out any kind of interference you may be experiencing wirelessly.

Give the troubleshooting a reply and please keep us updated with the results.

I hope this helps you a bit more.

Hughesnet gen 5 problem

Hi Deuces1313,

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue. Are you getting this Moderate NAT reading on the Xbox One or Xbox App on PC? If you could clarify this it would be great, that way we could provide accurate answers.

Meanwhile, I would suggest to go over these Troubleshooting articles in regards to a Moderate NAT. I have provided links for NAT error on PC and Xbox One.

Xbox One NAT Error: "I can't hear my friends online, or I can't join or host a multiplayer game with my
Xbox One"

Xbox app NATtype on Troubleshoot audio in
parties and issues with multiplayer games on Windows 10

Hope to hear from you soon, let us know if these links help.

Hughesnet gen 5 problem

It's on xbox one s console. No problems hearing friends on mic and such. But when we go online on multiplayer, it kicks me and says connection is to slow.
