How's everyone liking the beta so far?

I'm having a blast so far, it's a nice change of pace from the usual first person shooters even though this game is a fps. Definitely buying this when it releases.

Having a great time here, too. My only real gripe is the constant tip that appears on the side of the screen every second you're in the tower. I know how to go to orbit, thank you. Other than that, really looking forward to September

 

Dogmeat, most games have the option to take the tips off, you just have to find it in your settings.

so is the game like halo or what? and how many people can play at once? and is it like defiance?

 

There was no option in the alpha, haven't checked to see if they've added one. Looks like Halo, handles like Halo/COD, with Borderlands elements mixed in. You can see where they pulled elements from MMO as far as missions, social hubs, loot and end game
content. An amazing mash up of so many genres

 

Game plays great and looks great, looks real great actually -some stunning vistas

If they're looking for tips from the beta I hope they punt this cursor placement over menu items like we're using a mouse. Consoles should snap to it using stick or DPAD. Small gripe but it does get on my nerves.

 

That was an odd design choice. Feels like a PC port, though this is strictly a console game.

 

The fire team needs to be one more person. Even Halo had 4 person teams for co-op. Hopefully that is added to the full game.

 

Loving it so far, only got to play for an hour last night. Cant wait to finish work and get back to it.

 

anyone have an idea who's servers Bungie is using?

 

They appear to be using activisions demonware servers. The same servers call of duty uses.

I know this because every time I start Destiny the xbox uses demonware port mapping to open UDP port 1200

 

I find it "Iffy" - It's better then i expected, But it gets outstandingly boring if you play it for more then an hour at a time or so. The beta's replay value is 'None' as far as I'm concerned.

It's a game worth buying for nothing more then $25-30.

But that's just my thoughts...
