If you’re able to perform the factory reset via offline update or if you’re able to do it inside settings app.
You’re good to go.

Another option is connect it (if you already remove it from the console) to your computer and use disk management to format it from there

seems some had the issue here i would send it in for repair anything you do to it can void the warrenty

as it is not a widespread issue then there is something with your pc, you say they wiped it but exactly how did they wipe it, if they just reset the OS then this does not always resolve the issues as there could be corrupt data, better to wipe the drive and re install windows from a pen drive completely. there is no bug in the last update otherwise everyone would be affected.

I am unsure if they do a hardrive wipe, but do not fear loosing your charters! Your Destiny characters are stored on Bungie's servers so there is nothing stored locally on the console. Also, all your game saves are stored on the cloud, so if they do wipe
your harddrive all you will have to do is redownload the game and your progress will start off right where you left it
