How to verify an account?

We have recently received a email from Microsoft telling us they have detected unusual activity on the email account we use for his Xbox. This is an old email address which hasn’t been used in a while and we are struggling to verify it. Can you advise on what we can do.

If you get an email about unusual activity on your Microsoft account, go to the Recent Activity page:

You’ll see when the Microsoft account was signed in during the last 30 days, along with any device or app-specific info.

However, since you're unable to verify the account, kindly try to recover it using the account recovery web form:

https://account.live.com/acsr

You will also need an active alternate email where you can be contacted. Don't worry, this might take a little of your time but it's definitely worth it.

Note: Try to fill out the form on where you frequently use or usually sign in your account.

After submitting the form, you will be contacted on your contact alternate email within normally 1-2 hours maximum time of 24 hours. Once they validate your account, you will receive a reset password link that will take you back access to your account.

You can verify the child's account by signing in to https://account.microsoft.com/family using the adult account/organizer account, you'll have an option to verify it from there on the right side of your child's account.

Also can't verify account. Wow How frustrating!! Cant play xbox one on Xmas because account cannot be verified
