How to use The Witcher 3 Game Guide (without spoiling the the game) ?

This is the first game I've actually bought the strategy guide for because:

1 - just love the game world and was able to get the Collections Edition for $24

2 - I'm getting old and don't have nearly the time or patience I used to. So having a guide if I get stuck can help. Plus, if I want to replay it for alternate paths and endings/character builds, I don't mind "cheating" a little the second time through.

So basically what I'm asking asking is: how can I use the guide as a supplement to enjoy the game and not give stuff away and killing the joy of "not knowing" and experiencing things as they come along? I guess I'm looking for a happy medium between going
in blind yet not being so oblivious that I create a poorly designed character that will make the game experience more daunting.

It's really odd how some people just can't enjoy a game without spoiling it for others.

 

Want game with a good and long campaign

The Witcher 3 is a must. Dragon Age Inquisition, Fallout 4, & Dying Light are good games with or without DLC. There is a goty edition of The Witcher 3 and both of its expansions are each longer than a lot of games.

 

I guess I prefer the "going in blind" approach. If there was a guide in front of me, it would be hard to resist accessing it for literally everything, so I choose not to. I'm the type of gamer that explores every square inch of a map, so if something is
there, I'm going to find it.

I agree for the most part, but the realities of life and having kids makes my time just a wee bit more cramped, so I'm trying to figure out a happy medium that still doesn't feel like cheating
