How to use offline hard drive data instead of cloud?

Hello, hopefully someone has some help for me.. So I'm playing fallout 4, and here is my issue. I had been playing offline at home recently because, sadly, I had no internet access here until this week. My player mardagg gained roughly 20+ hours and about
15 character levels during this offline play. But I also have my profile in my brothers Xbox one and I played it at his house with him in that time period, but on a different player, groot. Groot is the player that we made to play together when we hang out.
The catch is that groot was played on an xbox that was connected to the web, and mardagg wasn't. So groot was updated to the cloud and mardagg wasn't. So when I turned the game on at home after getting the net turned on, it seems to have auto updated and increased
groot and replaced mardagg to the lower level from before my Internet was off for those few days. So now my question is, how do I use the data that should be in my hard drive instead of using what they have assumed I wanted to use? Sometimes it asks if you
want to use the more recent data from their cloud, but it did not give me any options, it seems to have detected I was connected and auto updated from the cloud. Does anyone know a way to manually select hard drive data, or is it already too late and overwritten,
lost forever? I would deeply appreciate any help, tech support today had nothing for me and 20+ hours is a stiff loss. If it seriously is impossible to use offline data instead of being forced to play out of the cloud, then that means you can't play Xbox one
without internet, at all, or you run the risk of data replacement. If this is truly the case, and I can't backup or select save files, then I'm sorry to say that I'm not going to play anymore this week and buy a PS4 on Friday. If I can't get a resolution or
at least an informative response, I'm going to have to recommend that others do the same as well. It really is unsettling, the lack of control offered to the user for such an expensive and seemingly sophisticated piece of equipment, and the dependency on the
internet 100% of the time, lest you lose save files that you aren't allowed to backup. It's my machine that I bought and paid for... I'm not allowed to backup a file? Anyone with any experience with this or information would be a great help, thanks in advance

Lost Game Saves - Can we PLEASE have file control back?

Just curious since we can play offline if you disconnect the internet and play offline will it save to your hard drive instead of EA's very horrible servers they use for BF4 saves?

 

320 GIG GOW 3 Console Bundle?

Yeah I'm asking about using an external hard drive too in the xbox support forums. I hope so I think it would be better to use that instead of the 8 gb flash drive to move all my data over.
