How to use my smart-phone as screen when playing Xbox One?

    Hi,

If I am not mistaken, I remember that by the end of last year, some reports confirmed that consumers who bought Xbox One could use their own smartphones as screens to play games! They could fit that smartphones onto their controllers to play!

I want to combine my smartphone onto my Xbox One controller, using the smartphone screen as my gaming screen. How should I do it? Do I have to buy any other accessories to do it? I am using Samsung S3, will it work as a gaming screen?

    Thanks!

    :)

Ok, the first article is for SmartGlass which is a companion app to the Xbox consoles. It does not allow you to play games but does give some added functionality.

The second article is for the Nyko Smart Clip which is nothing more than a clip that attaches to your controller and holds your phone for easier use with SmartGlass.

You can purchase the Smart Clip from Nyko's website

    www.nyko.com/.../product-detail

I have also seen it listed on Amazon in my search. There may also be a possibility that you could find it at one of your local retailers (Walmart perhaps?) but you would need to do the legwork for that at your end.

    Hope this info helped.

sending a simple message is INCREDIBLY SLOW!

I don't get all this praise about smart glass. I've tried the smart glass on my phone and unless I'm missing something, all it does is connect to your X1 so that you can 'take over' the X1 UI. I'm talking specifically about messaging when I say this.

Is there a way to be in a game and receive a message, open it, read it and respond to it via smart glass without having to pull up the messaging app on your X1? Can you message people using smart glass 'in the background' without ever interrupting what is
    happening on your console?

My experience with smart glass is as follows: Receive message in game. Hold X (or say "Xbox Read Message"). After reading message (and deciding to reply) click reply. Put down controller and grab phone, pull up smart glass and do w/e navigating you need
to in order to get your phone screen to match your Xbox screen and then use the phone's pop up KB to type your reply.

Even with my wireless KB, it's easier than that... get message, pull it up, click reply and grab KB to type. As I said, the only reason I tried smart glass to begin with is to make messaging easier which, compared to the UI, it is.

So, unless I am missing a setting somewhere or a way to use smart glass completely in the background, without interrupting what my Xbox is doing or what's on the screen... I see nothing smart about smart glass. It's nothing more than a 'second controller'
that I have to fumble around with and put down my primary X1 controller to use. My wireless KB is quicker, larger (since I'm older that helps) and easier (since I know how to type) to use and if I'm going to have to fumble around putting down one controller
to grab another just to send a message, I'll use the KB.

Hey, I've got a great idea! Why don't they give us the option to send voice messages?
