    How to use Microsoft account balance for Live sub


    Hey all,

    I used to live in Canada and set up my XBox live from there, I have since moved to the US and my sub is about to expire. My region and address are both updated with the US address, and I am not past due (my sub expires on Feb 6th 2021).

    My auto renew is off, I have a balance of $92USD on my account I want to use to renew my 12 mos XBox Live sub but I cannot figure out how to do this. When I go to payment options there’s no option to select the balance, only credit/debit, redeem code/gift card, and PayPal.

    Can I even do this on my own or do I have to call Microsoft?

    Hello,

    You cannot use your Microsoft Account balance to purchase Xbox LIVE Gold. That balance can only be used on Xbox LIVE Game store transactions.

    Yes. You're balance is tired to your Microsoft account, not to Xbox live. You can use your balance for the marketplace or for windows store.

    Yeah, same here i go into my payment and billing, click payment options, add a new payment, and i see nothing that says Microsoft account balance. I first noticed this when i redeemed a 3$ from Microsoft rewards points and noticed that it was not in my balance. So I couldn’t use any of the Microsoft account balance in the store.

    Hi,

    subs and hardware can't be payed with credits from your account. That's why it doesn't appear as payment method.
