1. How to use both analog and HDMI to a computer monitor?

I'm currently using a computer monitor as a display for my 360, it doesn't have any speakers so I decided to take apart the analog 360 cable housing so I could fit both HDMI and the analog cables in at the same time. I tried using the red and white cables
to my turtle beaches for sound. It just keeps turning on and off now. Is there any work arounds to get this to work? Sorry if I'm not explaining this well enough.

:)

HDMI And Composite plug into my PC?
Does anyone know how I can play my xbox on my computer monitor with HDMI input while having the composite thing plugged in aswell?
You cannot. The cabling is designed so that you can only use HDMI or Composite, not both. Forcing
both side by side does not work. Tampering with the cabling to make it fit is prohibited as per the Terms of Use.

If you have a 360 S, there's an optical port on the back of the console. A digital to analog audio adapter can be used to convert that to a stereo analog signal. If you have an original 360, you'll need the HDMI AV audio adapter, though they can be hard
to find.

Analog speakers and the Xbox one

Since the Xbox One has an Optical Output port, if I were to purchase a
Digital Audio to Analog converter
, would I be able to use my analog speakers audio with the X1?

I play on a computer monitor that has HDMI for video only. I have an HDMI TV that supports both audio and video via HDMI, but I prefer to not play on my TV for convenience.

I'm no AV expert so all constructive inputs on this subject are appreciated.

Thanks.

4. How to use both analog and HDMI to a computer monitor?

as far as I know there is no way round to do it the way you are trying to do, you would need to place a conversion box to the hdmi that has the av output as well as hdmi unless you can set up the sound through the optical port.

Hi there,

I'm sorry but it's not allowed to discuss any self made modifications to cables etc in the forums.

You will need to use the supported cables/outputs of the console

You can try the adapter they used for the Bandfuse game which gets you the analog audio outputs - I have one but I can't remember if it fits well with HDMI plugged in on the Xbox 360S and I am not at home to check. I believe it should as the game came out
after that model was released (and before the E model) and that was what it was designed for. The only other option would be optical out audio but you would need a audio receive, headset, or a converter to make that work.

Also, which model of 360 do you have? It makes a difference since the port configuration on the back is different on each model. I am assuming you are using the S model as I remember a similar issue when trying to hook up a specific headset the brief time
I had my 360 running through my Xbox One's HDMI input (now back to VGA after getting an optical switcher for sound). .

Xbox One to PC

If it's matter of you only having a computer monitor for both your PC and Xbox you can hook a Win 8.1 PC into the Xbox's HDMI and use the Xbox's HDMI pass-through. Both systems would have the computer monitor available to them.

Basically what you want to do but in reverse PC to Xbox to monitor.
