    How to unmute friend


    Hello, today i met a friend i havent seen in 1-2 years. But for some reason, we cant see each others chat in Minecraft Bedrock. Other people can see both of ours just fine, but we cant see each others. I’ve blocked and unblocked them, muted and unmuted but it won’t work. I am on iOS ipad and theyre on Nintendo Switch. My xbox account privacy is set for everyone. I am friended to them and it worked fine a year ago. They did not block me or anything either. I am not going to make a new account for this issue. Please help

    Did you try to mute and unmute your friend or undo and re-friend? Also try mutating and unmuting it in the Xbox Companion app.

    Hi Olive,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're having issues using the party chat feature of Xbox when playing with your friend. Please make sure that you and your friend's Xbox settings are configured properly. These communication settings can be adjusted to limit who you want to chat with.

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system.

    2. Select Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details & customise.

    3. Select Communication & multiplayer, and then review the settings for the following to make sure that they are set to Friends or Everyone:

    Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites

    You can communicate outside of Xbox with voice & text

    You can use video for communications

    Note: If you're connected to a Discord voice channel on your Xbox console, your party chat status will say “Discord” and the name of the voice channel that you're in. If you want to join or start an Xbox party chat, disconnect from the Discord voice channel so that you can switch over to game or party chat.     Thanks for reaching out and welcome to Xbox community forums. I understand how important this matter is for you.

    Normally, you can unmute a friend from their profile card. But there's also a possibility that unmuting your friend requires validation from the Enforcement team which takes time to unmute them. If your friend is still muted, I'd highly suggest contacting our Xbox Support team for further investigation on this issue.

    I hope this clarifies your concern.

    Friends muted

    I also have this issue and so does my son. He has a friend and his friend is unable to unmute him. He didn't place him on mute in the first place. He tries to unmute on his friends list but it just reverts back. I have his friend on my list and he is muted
    under my account....through choice :). But I too can't unmute him now. Tried on my friends list, reverts back to muted. Tried by going under my profile, going to following, selecting muted, unmuting him there.....still the same.

    Anybody got any ideas? Could Fortnite have anything to do with it? Tried going in to party, then going to in game chat, leaving it for 10 secs, going back to party and unmuting. Has worked for some....not for me. Please, help me. my son won't stop moaning
    about it. Is it something that just resolves itself or is that it?

    Cant unmute friends!!!

    same problem guys, has nothing to do with internet connection, my friend muted me yesterday and cant unmute, we tried blocking each other then unblocking, deleteing friend and adding friend with no hope, im **** sick of xbox its a ****oblem every month
