How to troubleshoot Xbox App on PC connection to the Xbox One console?

After the latest Xbox PC App update the app can't find my console anymore. Is there any proper way to troubleshoot the connection?

- Xbox App version 28.28.28008.0

- Xbox One OS version 10.0.15062_2022

- The connection worked before the PC App update

- Ping works from PC to Xbox

- Both devices are in the same subnet

- On Xbox app going to console-section there is nothing visible (as I removed the previous connection while attempting to troubleshoot this)

- Add device -> nothing visible

- Adding the IP address returns failure that the console can't be found

- At the same time running ping to the console IP address works

- Console is switched on

- Rebooting PC doesn't work

- Rebooting console doesn't work

- Xbox app connection is allowed in console settings

- Following protocols are allowed across the LAN (tcp and udp): 5050, 4838, 49000-65000

What are the exact protocols that the Xbox App is using in attempting to find/connect to the console?

Is there any logging flags for the Xbox App?

Windows 10 Xbox App - unable to connect to Xbox One

Hello,

I have an Xbox One and PC, both on the same wired network.

On the Xbox One, under Xbox app connectivity, I have allowed Play To game streaming, Game streaming to other devices, and allowed connections from any device. (Following advice from: How to Use Game Streaming in the Xbox App on Windows 10
)

However when selecting "Connection" in the Windows 10 pc Xbox app, the system does not automatically detect my Xbox One.

To troubleshoot, I looked at Troubleshoot Xbox App Game Streaming | Xbox App on Windows 10 , went into the Xbox Settings |
Network | Network Settings | Advanced Settings, and found my Xbox One IPv4 IP address. I entered that, selected Connect, and am told "We are not able to find an Xbox One console with the IP address provided."

Both are on the same 255.255.255.0 subnet. PC address is 192.168.0.19, Xbox One is 192.168.0.18.

Are you referring to the Xbox app on Windows 10, or the mobile Xbox app?

Are both the console and PC or phone connected to the same the home network? That's required to connect but if it's asking you for the console IP address, you can find the Xbox One’s IP address by going to
Settings, selecting Network > Network settings, and then selecting
Advanced settings.

Also, check that your Xbox One console allows Xbox app connections. You’ll find this on the console by going to
Settings, selecting Preferences > Xbox app connectivity, and then selecting
Allow connections from any device.

If it is still not connecting, restart both the PC and Xbox completely. Follow this guide for further help:

Hi there!

Thank you for coming to the forums, I'd be happy to try and help you.

The main reason the Xbox One S can't connect to the Xbox App on your PC is that they are probably not on the same subnetwork. Make sure that your Xbox One and PC are connected to the same internet band (5GHz or 2.4 GHz) and that they have separate SSID's
(network name).

If you are positive that they are both connected to the same subnetwork then try putting in the Xbox's IP address in the "Xbox One not listed? Enter your console’s IP address" box found in the Connect panel of the Xbox App on your PC.

Make sure your settings for allowing game streaming are set to allow on the Xbox One.
