how to transfer gaming progress from adult to child account

Hi, I'm new to Xbox. Incorrectly setup an adult account and my child has been playing his games on it. Have now created a child account for him under our family. Is there a way to transfer his gaming progress to his account?

Also is there a way to change the my adult gamertag which has been setup as his incorrectly without paying $13 for it?

Transfer game progress to a child account

I created a child account for my son, but all of his prior game progress and achievements were on my adult account profile. Is there a way to transfer that progress history to his new child account so he doesn't have to start over in all his games?

I am having the same issue. I need to switch my account that my son has been using to a child account to limit his time. Either that or find a way to switch his game progress & money to his child account.

There is no way to demote an adult account to a child account and there is no way to transfer progress and currency to another account.

Nothing can be transferred between accounts.

If the adult gamertag was given a randomly generated tax when you created it and you are changing that tag, it will be free. Otherwise, you will have to pay to change the tag.

It is not possible to convert an adult account to a child account. You would need to create a new child account. There is no way to transfer any of the saves or gamerscore to the new account from the adult account.

You should always have own account for everyone. Unfortunately progress/saves cannot be transferred from one account to another.

Regarding a question that can you make an adult account part of your family group as a child? Yes you can. You just need to add the email address as a child to your family and from that account accept that invite.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox Communities Forum. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to change an adult account to a child account. You also can't transfer account data or progress to a different account.

Fortnite progress is tied to your son's Epic Game's account, so you could unlink the Epic Games account from the adult account and link it to the new account. This would 'transfer' his Fortnite progress and skins to the new account, however, Epic Games have restrictions on how soon you can link a different account. You can remove a restriction and link a new platform account once every 365 days. Additionally, this wouldn't transfer his Xbox credit to the account.
