  1. How to stop Microsoft Minesweeper choosing wrong Xbox account for sign-in

    Hello,

Whenever I run Microsoft Minesweeper it automatically signs me under my Hotmail / Microsoft account. But I use my Gmail account for my xBox sign-in. Other games don't do this.

I've tried reinstalling, tried running direct from the Xbox sign-in page, but I can't find a way to stop the automatic association.

Help would be nice, would be nice to record my achievements on the same account.

    Cheers,

    Rogan

    :)

  2. Minesweeper crashing with adventure mode

Hmm, looks to me the issue with Minesweeper may have been caused by Microsoft forcing me to sign in to an xbox account since updating to 8.1 I never wanted to as we have very limited internet as it is without the extra rubbish. I can not sign out of the
account and it automatically signs me in each time I open Minesweeper and I don't want that either.

How to password protect your Xbox LIVE profile

    Xbox LIVE password overview

It is possible to download your Xbox LIVE profile to several different consoles. You may need to do this if you have more than one Xbox 360 console, or you want to play games at a friend's house. In such a situation, you may want to password protect your Xbox LIVE account so that no one else can sign in using your profile.

Set the console to remember your password

Once you have downloaded your Xbox LIVE profile to a console, you will be asked if you want the console to remember your password. The Remember Password option is usually off by default. This means that you will be asked for your Microsoft account password every time you sign into Xbox LIVE.

If you don't want to be asked for your Microsoft account password every time you sign into Xbox LIVE, select the Remember Password option.

Change the password protection on your profile

You are required to set the Remember Password option after you download your Xbox LIVE profile. However, you can change the password protection on your Xbox LIVE profile any time.

If you don't need a password to sign in:

Sign into your Xbox LIVE profile. After you have entered your Microsoft account password, select the Remember Password option.

If you choose the Remember Password option, you will not be asked for your Microsoft account password the next time you sign into your Xbox LIVE profile.

If you need a password to sign in:

You can restrict access to your Xbox LIVE profile on any console using your Microsoft account password.

    Steps to follow

    1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

    2) Under Settings, select Account and then Account Security

    3) Choose the option for Password at Sign In.

    4) Select Require Password Here

You will be asked for your Microsoft account password the next time you sign into your Xbox LIVE profile.

How to password protect your Xbox LIVE profile remotely

If you downloaded your Xbox LIVE profile to another console and it is not password protected, or someone has compromised your password, you can change the password from a remote location so that no one else can access your profile.

    Change your Microsoft account

    1) Sign into accounts.live.com using your Microsoft account.

    2) Go to Account Information and, next to Password, click Change.

You can also use your console to change your Microsoft account password.

Note: If the Xbox LIVE profile you downloaded does not require a password to sign in (You selected the Remember Password option), you will not be able to restrict someone from signing into your Xbox profile even if you change your Microsoft account password.

You can remove your Microsoft account password so that other people cannot access your Xbox profile on other consoles. This will ensure that a password is required before signing into your Xbox profile.

Remotely set a profile password from a computer:

    1) Sign into your Xbox LIVE account.

    2) Under Settings, select Account, and then Account Security

    3) Choose the option for Password at Sign In.

    4) Select On All Other Consoles.

Once you have done this, a password will be required to sign into your Xbox LIVE profile on all other consoles.

    Minesweeper crashing on Adventure...

I am seeing the same problem. Relatively new 8.1 install. Minesweeper adventure worked for a few days and then stopped. I removed the app and reinstalled it and it worked again. For a few days...

Today I created a new local account, tied it to the same Microsoft account in order to install the game.

It installed and ran adventure fine.

So I signed out and signed into my normal account. Minesweeper Adventure still fails.

Get the splash screen. Click on Adventure and it bring up the green load screen for about 4 seconds then back to the Windows startup screen. The task manager still shows Minesweeper running.

This appears to be a resource issue tied to the user account.

I'm having to repay for a game on PC, how do I fix it?

If the game doesn't appear in the actual account that means it wasn't purchased with it

Maybe you're signed on the wrong Microsoft account.

Please try sign out from both Microsoft store and Xbox app account and let me know how it goes

how do i sign out from the current account!?!?!?!?!

Minesweeper automatically signs you in to Xbox with the account you have associated with your Windows 8.1 login. In order to change this, you will need to do the following:

    1. Uninstall Minesweeper

    2. Press the Windows key & hover over the right hand side to bring up the charm bar

    3. Click on Settings

    4. Click Change PC Settings at the very bottom of the Settings window

    5. Click on Accounts

    6. Select your account. You should see an email address under your name. Under it, it will say Disconnect.

    7. You will then see a window pop-up saying Switch to a Local account. Enter in the new information & keep in mind this will be different from your previous information so it should be something you can remember.

    8. Choose Next, then Sign Out and finish

    9. Log back in to your now local account with the credentials you provided above

    10. Repeat steps 3-5

    11. Click on Connect to a Microsoft Account

    12. Enter your current password for your local account

    13. Enter your Xbox login information

    14. Launch the Windows Store

    15. Hover over the right-hand side to bring up the charm bar

    16. Select Settings

    17. Select Your Account

    18. If you are signed in to an account that is not your Xbox account, sign out. Sign back in with your Xbox account.

    19. Download Minesweeper

    20. Enjoy!

Let me know if you need more help. Since most people use their Xbox account login with their Windows 8 login, most users never have to do this.
