How to stop automatic minecraft updates?

First thing, I have Hughes net so yeah, my internet sucks. I hate Hughes net but it's my only choice where I live. I have to "go offline" and also physically unplug the xbox one to make sure it doesn't zap all my bandwidth for the month. I only go back online
when I NEED to update something.

Started a new world in minecraft last week, came in from work today, excited cause I was ready to play and this stupid thing is trying to update. It's at 0% because it's not even physically plugged in. So, since this ridiculous machine is attempting to update
my game, although offline, I cannot play.

Does anyone know how to keep it from doing this? I do not want anything to update without me wanting it to. Not the console or any games. What the hell do I check to stop this? And since it's already started, can I still play somehow?

I want to smash this mf with a hammer. If my kids wasn't with me this week, I probably would have enjoyed stomping it into tiny bits all the while laughing at the 300 bucks I wasted. This is obviously some left over code from the original "let's make it connected
online all the time" attribute... which WE ALL HATED.

Right now I am seriously hating the fact that I chose to continue with the Xbox console instead of buying a Playstation this time.

Yes, I looked for anything remotely similar to this before I posted so don't bite my a** cause I posted in the wrong place or broke some other forum rule. I would not even be here if I wasn't at wits end. And excuse me for being frustrated and mad as hell.

How to stop automatic minecraft updates?

Have you tried going to settings > All Settings > Power mode and start-up.

You can toggle settings there. If you switch to Energy Saving mode your console has to be on to install updates. I think there are other options to do with updates too.

Your prolly *** now that it wants the update. So go back online and update its pretty polar bears and a few really sweet new blocks..worth the bandwidth charge to me...If its still available. Then no more hammer and all will stack perfectly in the land.

you can make it update automatically this will stop you having to update just leave your xbox plugged in but on stand by and updates should be put on the system automatically

I recently joined the Beta version of Minecraft on my Xbox one. when I left the preview, I reinstalled Minecraft. But when I launch Minecraft, It automatically installs the beta. Even when I cancelled the update, when I launch the game, It updates. I even tried closing my Insider hub account for this to stop but it didn't. Any help please?

You must leave the beta club thing, and re-install Minecraft. I hope i helped

I have same problem.

My Microsoft Sudoku game "updated" automatically and I got the new one back.

I uninstalled it and went through the process again to get the old one back from the Malavida site.

i would also like to know how to stop the update happening automatically.
