Unfortunately, Microsoft credits are not refundable, but you can still have your son purchase games, apps, devices, subscriptions, or even movies from the Microsoft Store using Microsoft credits.

Your reply confirms what I have feared. As I do not have an XBOX, the credit on my son's MS account is effectively condemned.

Is there any way I can get a refund for the £££ that has been put into this account?

It really is not acceptable for this to have been happening for so many years with no one addressing a glaring software process issue. I appreciate this is a user-to-user forum. So the below is for the benefit of feedback to Microsoft if any of us has the means to do this.

1. For years now, the Microsoft family app has been prompting parents to deposit money into their children's account for PC in-app purchases.
   
2. Once parents deposit this money into their children's accounts, they are unable to use these funds. What is worse is that the app keeps prompting parents to deposit more funds into their children's account on every purchase request.
   
3. Families fall into the trap of placing money into an account that can't be used, unless they have an XBOX console to workaround this glitch.
   

For those hundred of others searching for a solution to this - I hope this post helps you find some closure on this. Don't waste time with tech support. Write to Microsoft, write to the BBC rogue traders. Keep escalating this issue as it's just a farce to have families being inadvertently conned out of their money which ends up sitting useless in a Microsoft account.

Based on the information I've gathered, For Roblox PC, you will have to purchase Robux directly from the Roblox website. As for the Robux from the Microsoft store, this is for Xbox console only.
