How to set up a timer on a 1 account console

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to set up an online timer on an xbox one console that only has one account attached to it, I read about the family timer but that does not seem to be what I am looking for.

    :)

It sort of depends on how you're going to set it up.

Example 1: You have building A, console A, account A, building B, etc. If you create account A, add gold to that account and set console A as the Home console for that account, you can then sign into console B with account A and everyone would need to use
account A in order to use gold on that console. Account A would only be able to be signed into 1 console at a time. So on console A you would need to set up another account, but they would have access to A's gold.

Example 2: If you need to set up multiple account so different people, you would need at least 2 subscriptions. 1 for each console. 1 account with gold on console A and 1 account with gold on console B. Each console set as their Home console so everyone
    can share gold.

How to set up a "parent account"

    Hi,

I am a gamers nightmare, a parent that knows very little about technology.... I never set up a “parent” profile on my children’s xbox, and made their profile a “child” one
    with very strict restrictions.

I want to amend it in the future to enable them play with friends via xbox live, and was wondering is there a way to set up a parent profile
    in retrospect.

Everything I have searched up says to go to parental account to amend but I don't obviously have one - please help me.

forgot family thing password and need to reset it on xbox 360

    Hey there Troy,

Sorry to hear you are running into these problems. Is it possible that there is a Family Timer set on the Console?

Go ahead and take a look at the following support page for more help with this.

Give this a try and let us know if this has helped.

XBox Live signs me out when I launch my game.

Hi, that looks like a console with the Family timer set, the problem is it may well also have a parental settings passcode on it that means you won't be able to change that setting. I'm fairly sure that support won't be willing to help you reset that either,
of course I hope I'm wrong on that.

You may need to return the console to Game Stop.

    To set the Family Timer

      1. On your console, go to Settings and then select Family.

Tip Not seeing Settings? You might be using an older version of the console software. See

Update your Xbox 360 console software
for information on how to update your console software.
    1. Select On to turn on Console Safety.
    2. Enter a four-action passcode using your controller.
    3. Select Family Timer.
    4. Select whether you want to set a Daily or Weekly timer.
    5. Move down to the time period and use the left stick to increase or decrease the time period, then select
      Continue.
    6. Select Save and Exit.
When the Family Timer is on, notifications will appear 1 hour, 30 minutes, 15 minutes and 5 minutes before the time runs out. These give players sufficient warning so that they can save their games. However, when one of these notifications appears, you can
add time or disable the timer altogether by entering the passcode.

To add time or suspend the Family Timer

    1. When a Family Timer notification appears, press the Guide button to see the Family Timer options.
    2. Enter your passcode using your controller.
    3. Choose to add more time, suspend the timer or turn the console off

    family center vs profiles

I believe the Family Timer on the console is just one running clock regardless of who is using the console at the time.

As for the passwords, every account can have an Xbox LIVE passcode set up on it that can keep their accounts secure from each other. We have a little info and steps for setting these up on

    Hi!

Copied and pasted from the official guide at: http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-live/parental-controls/parental-control-info

How do I set the Family Timer?

Use the Family Timer to limit the amount of time that your family can use your console on a daily or weekly basis. Family members can see how much time remains by pressing the Guide button on the Xbox controller. When the time expires, the console shuts
down and can't be used again until the Family Timer automatically resets the next day or week.

    To set the Family Timer

      1. On your console, go to Settings, and then select Family.

Tip Not seeing Settings? You might be using an older version of the console software. See Update your Xbox 360 console software for information on how
        to update your console software.

    1. Select On to turn on Console Safety.
    2. Enter a 4-button pass code using your controller.
    3. Select Family Timer.
    4. Select whether you want to set a Daily or Weekly timer.
    5. Move down to the time period and use the left stick to increase or decrease the time period, then select Continue.
    6. Select Save and Exit.
When the Family Timer is on, notifications will appear 1 hour, 30 minutes, 15 minutes and 5 minutes before the time runs out. These give players sufficient warning so that they can save their games. However, when one of these notifications appears, you can

Xbox 360 Family Timer - Setting from a PC

    Hi there,

From what I can see, it's not possible to set from the PC

Also reading through the information on the family timer leads me to believe it would reset as soon as you hit a new day or week and not the time you set it as the purpose to limit the time the console can be used daily or weekly.

See the following link for more information on the family timer:
