How to set automatic updates on xbox live

It seems to be far too often that when I go onto xbox Live it asks to download update which takes about an hour. How do I set it so it does it automatically in the background???

I want make a refund

I don't know when did I set for automatic deposit for Xbox live but my card history told em that I set the automatic deposit.

According to my card history, I made the payment on September, 29th of this year. I don't want to pay for Xbox live because I don't have my Xbox one with me now.

So, I want to request for refund.

How can I get refund?

Xbox Consoles

Hi there,

On the Xbox console, you can set it to do automatic updates, Live is not required - Go to Settings > System > Updates. Then select Keep My Console up to date.

Hi there,

I'm afraid there there is no option to automatically download any updates in the background for the console, games or apps on the xbox 360.

That feature is only available on the Xbox One when it is set to the Instant-On mode.

Hi Ponic,

Welcome to the forums, sorry for the inconvenience you're experiencing.

You may need to check your automatic update settings on your console. Here's a small guide on how to do that Automatic updating

Hopefully that will help you out a bit.

Listed here! If you update to a certified version of firmware there is no need to configure your router settings.

Check for updates on Windows Update and install everything including optional/additional updates.

Check if your time zone is set to automatic in settings>date and time

Check if these services are running

Press the Windows Button then type Services.

Right-click over the Services App from the list of results.

Then select Run as Administrator

Scroll to the bottom and find the following services:

IP Helper

Xbox Live Auth Manager,

Xbox Live Game Save,

Xbox Live Networking Service.

Do this with each of the services listed above.

Right-click over the service and select Properties.

Find the Startup type section and make sure it’s set to Automatic.

If the service isn’t started, click Start to start the services.

Click Apply and OK to save changes.

Then try the game again.
